CARROLLTON, GA - Employees from Goldkist presented a donation to the University of West Georgia Foundation for the D.W. Brooks Scholarship awarded by the Richards College of Business (RCOB). A portion of the gift will go toward the endowment fund, which is still building, and $500 will be for an award this year. The scholarship is awarded to a student in Carroll, Haralson or Heard Counties in Georgia and Cleburne and Randolph Counties in Alabama. Dr. Faye McIntyre, dean of the RCOB, accepted the check from Richard Curvin of Goldkist. In addition to Curvin, Goldkist employees on hand for the presentation included: (l-r) Michael Williams, Carey Rogers, Scott Tucker, Booney Glenn, Diane Ackerman, Denvel Echols, Victor Ocampo, Genzadela Lopez, Randy Miller and Tammy Davis. Jacqueline Dixon (second from right) and Andy Leavitt (r) from the UWG Office of Development and Alumni Relations were also present.
