Other Notable Achievements

 

We are proud to report that our students continue the tradition of obtaining admission routinely into the top graduate and professional programs in the nation.  The class of 2005-2006 succeeded West Georgia and entered into chemical graduate programs at Emory, University of Georgia, and the University of Hawaii.  Five of our students entered into medical or pharmacy programs such as Loma Linda Medical School, Mercer Pharmacy School, and University of Kentucky Pharmacy School.  Two of our majors went into Secondary Chemical Education, and the rest have entered into Chemist positions or a chemistry related field. 

Logan Leslie, a junior University of West Georgia chemistry major from Carrollton, has been named by USA Today as a member of the All USA College Academic Team.  Logan is a student in the UWG Honors College with a 4.0 grade-point average.  Last year he was a recipient of the prestigious Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship which is quite a notable achievement indeed.
