State-of-the-Art Survey Research Lab Opens
Faculty in the Department of Sociology and Criminology celebrated its long awaited opening of a state-of-the-art Survey Research Lab in late fall with a community and campus open house. Along with the University of Georgia and Kennesaw State University, UWG is one of only three institutions in the state to offer the services of a survey research lab. MORE

Ballet Memphis Comes to Townsend
The Ballet Memphis appearance at the Townsend Center at UWG on Saturday, Jan. 26, will include more than the spectacular evening performance. Two unique opportunities for dance lovers will be offered that day. A Master Class for local dancers and an open technical rehearsal will bring the community face to face with the cast. MORE
Ingram Library Honors Penelope Melson
Never underestimate the power of a woman! The academic heart of the University of West Georgia’s campus, the Irvine Sullivan Ingram Library, had its humble beginnings in 1908 thanks to a book shower hosted by John Melson, first principal of the Fourth District A&M School, and his wife, Penelope Stevens Melson, who served as the first librarian. Public Safety and Parking Restructure
The University of West Georgia has moved its parking services to the Office of Business and Auxiliary Services and has changed the name of the Department of Public Safety to University Police. MORE
