Kral Announced as Interim CIO
Kathy Kral, former associate director for user support services for Information Technology Services, began duties January 1 as the interim Chief Information Officer at UWG.

The overall leadership and general administrative responsibilities for the ITS organization at UWG includes academic and administrative computing, telecommunications (telephone, distance learning and cable technologies), data administration, network infrastructure, web development, software and instructional technology support, and system support services.
“While the basic organizational structure for campus technology have been developed, work still remains to implement that basic framework,” said Dr. Beheruz N. Sethna, UWG president. “I have great confidence in Kathy’s ability to succeed, and the campus’ support for her efforts.”
Kral earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology in 1983 at Michigan State University, a Master of Science degree in Immunology in 1986 at Wayne State University, and post-bachelor degree in Computer Science in 1991 at Wayne State University.
She has worked in ITS at West Georgia since 1991 in such positions as computer support specialist, management information specialist, assistant director for user services, and ITS associate director.
