Kral Announced as Interim CIO

Kathy Kral, former associate director for user support services for Information Technology Services, began duties January 1 as the interim Chief Information Officer at UWG. MORE

Building Community Relationships

A partnership between a local business and a graphic design class at the University of West Georgia resulted in a new logo for Caney Creek Builders LLC and a $1,000 donation. Dr. Joey Hannaford, visiting assistant professor of art, assigned his graphic identity class the task of designing a new logo for Caney Creek. MORE

Job Expo Open to Alum and Students

The Department of Career Services at the University of West Georgia will host an annual UWG Job Expo on Tuesday, Feb. 12, 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. in the Campus Center Ballroom. The expo is open to UWG alumni and students and is a free event. MORE

Chambers Receives Award for Thesis

Helen Chambers, degree program specialist for the College of Education, received the Award for Excellence in Documenting Georgia’s History for her master’s thesis “From Community Center to Memory: The Oak Mountain One-Room School and Norman Rockwell.”  MORE

Conference will Focus on Water Management

The university will host its second annual UWG Water Resources Conference on Thursday, Feb. 21, and Friday, Feb. 22, in the Campus Center Ballroom. Students have free admission both days including a complimentary dinner Thursday evening. MORE

WGTC Kicks Off Spring Semester

The West Georgia Theatre Company opens its spring semester with “The Exonerated” on Tuesday, Feb. 19. Written by Jessica Blank and Erik Jensen, the production has been called “the number one play of the year” by The New York Times and premiered Off-Broadway in 2002.
