May Commencement Ceremony Set

West Georgia will conduct four spring commencement ceremonies on Saturday, May 10. The Registrar’s Office estimates that 575 undergraduates and 110 graduate students will walk down the aisle to receive a diploma.

Four ceremonies are scheduled for May.

The ceremonies will be held in the Campus Center Gymnasium at 9 a.m., noon, 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. Undergraduates from the College of Education will be awarded degrees at the 9 a.m. ceremony. The noon and 3 p.m. ceremonies will feature undergraduates receiving their degrees from the College of Arts and Sciences. At noon, students earning Bachelor of Science, a BS in Chemistry and a BS in Nursing will receive their diplomas.

At 3 p.m., students who earned a Bachelor of Arts, a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Bachelor of Music will receive their diplomas.

At 6 p.m., Richards College of Business and Graduate School students will receive their degrees.

New arrangements for the event include setting up the Technology-enhanced Learning Center for extra viewing space and issuing six tickets for each graduating student.

The overflow accommodations for family and friends without a ticket will be set up in the TLC with a simulcast of the ceremony in three lecture halls. The three halls have a total of 526 seats.
