A Day

The 2008 A Day for West Georgia campaign is beginning with a new logo and a new "Gill Roast" event.

Laughing for a Good Cause

If you’re in need of a good laugh and want to support the A DAY for West Georgia campaign, make plans to attend the Jim Gill Roast for Student Scholarships, in honor of Jim Gill, a longtime university friend and local banker.

Among those slated to roast Gill are UWG alumni Harry Preston ’60, Wayne Garner ’73, Tracy Stallings ’52 and Rhubarb Jones ’74. The event is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 18, at 6:30 p.m. in the Campus Center Ballroom. MORE

Trip in Bayeux Adds Depth to Studies

During the summer months, most UWG students are content to take a well-deserved break before starting school again in the fall. Others take advantage of the time by studying abroad, like the 10 art students heading to Bayeux, France, in July. The trip, spearheaded by Dr. Anne Gaquere, lecturer and Art Study Abroad program director, and Kevin Shunn, chair of the Art Department, is a unique opportunity for students to witness firsthand what they typically only see in textbooks.During the summer months, most UWG students are content to take a well- deserved break before starting school again in the fall.
