The Annual Faculty Art Show kicks off the new academic year with its largest show yet. 

Art Faculty Show Off Their Talents

It’s almost autumn and that means it is time for the faculty in the Department of Art to kick off the fall semester with a special showing of their work on Friday, August 15. A reception is scheduled on Thursday, Aug. 21, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the lobby of the Humanities Building.

Eclectic and revealing, the exhibit shows the works of more than a dozen faculty members in a wide range of media. It is the first of many gallery exhibits scheduled throughout the semester. MORE

University Club Opens Semester

university club opens semesterFaculty and staff and retirees have enjoyed the University Club Social and the Club Luncheons since 2002 and the tradition continues on August 22 on Adamson Square at UnCorked, the square’s newest culinary addition.

The twice-monthly Friday night affair offers faculty and staff a chance to relax and rub elbows with colleagues they may never meet outside of their departments. MORE

Drama Program Gets a Boost

When Carrollton’s independent Encore Theatre Company disbanded after a highly successful 10-year run, funds generated from ticket sales and donations left a positive bank balance.

Most police officers don’t appreciate being called pigs, but when it comes to name calling, three UWG police officers don’t mind it at all.  Lt. Charlie Marlar, Lt. Ned Watson and Sgt. Billy Stuart are the “Smokin’ Pigs Barbeque” team that has been rubbing and smoking their way through the state since last August. more
