and a Waring Distinguished Lecture Series in the fall.
Waring Lab Director Thrives on Public Outreach
When Henrietta Waring gave $1 million to the University of West Georgia in 1995 in memory of her late husband, Antonio J. Waring, Jr., the gift funded the Antonio J. Waring, Jr. Anthropology Endowment and distinguished the University of West Georgia as one of the very few universities in the country that can claim an endowed undergraduate anthropology program. As the budget news for the State looks bleak, the team at the University of West Georgia is focused on being part of the solution. UWG faculty members are presenting a two-part series for the campus and Carroll County community dealing with different aspects of the economic situation on Tuesdays, Oct. 21 and 28, at 7 p.m. in the Bonner Lecture Hall.
