Marching Band Performs Annual Variety Show
The University of West Georgia Marching Band, “The Sound That Lights the South,” will perform its annual indoor Varsity Show on Wednesday, Nov. 5, at 8:15 p.m. at the Townsend Center for the Performing Arts. The Advanced Academy at the University of West Georgia will host the annual Julian C. Stanley Distinguished Lecture Series on Friday, Nov. 7, at 7 p.m. in the Food Services Building (Z-6). The keynote speaker for the event is Dr. Cleo Samudzi, dean of the Missouri Academy of Science, Mathematics and Computing. The event is free and the community is invited to attend. MORE
Four Inducted into UWG's Athletic Hall of Fame
The UWG Athletic Hall of Fame added four new names to the list of all-time UWG sports legends. The inductees are Marquis Floyd and Tim McClain, two former UWG football players; Paul Snyder, a baseball All-America from the ‘60s; and Dr. Gary Holmes, a baseball athlete and president of the Georgia High School Association. RCOB: A Best Business School in 2009
The Princeton Review has selected the Richards College of Business as an outstanding business school for a third consecutive year and will include college in its “Best 296 Business Schools: 2009” publication. The national recognition is based on a survey regarding the college’s academic programs and student satisfaction, as well as the university’s student body and campus life. MORE
