Be There or Be Square“The Howlers” will entertain faculty and staff at the grand finale on Friday, April 24, 5 to 7 p.m.
Last year, the band rocked so much that professors, administrators and staff danced the night away. The band, which has received rave reviews and bookings in the mountains, will play for hours thanks to Van Edwards (vocals and keyboard), Central Stores and Receiving; Karen Lingrell (vocals), program specialist for Career Services; Steven Broome, (bass guitar and vocals), UWG photographer; Ricky Bilbo (drums); and Lynn Agan (lead guitar), director of Campus Planning and Development. The social is open to faculty, staff and retired UWG folks and is held twice a month throughout the academic year. Guests are welcome to bring their own beer and wine to the farewell gathering. The club welcomes new committee members to plan out the upcoming year. Dr. Beheruz N. Sethna, faculty and staff helped start the club as a way for the campus community to relax together outside of the five-day work week. The online Campus Chronicle will list the dates and locations of the Club Socials for the upcoming year as soon as they are available. Be there or be square.
