Event of NoteUWG Students’ Photography on Exhibit in AtlantaThe University of West Georgia and the Department of Art are pleased to announce the opening of a senior photography exhibition that will run through April 24 in the Tula Art Center at The Museum of Contemporary Art of Georgia. The eight photography majors participating in the exhibition are Paul Calhoun of Bremen; William Hogan of Franklin; Jay Holbrook of Carrollton, Claire Hyde of Suwanee, Hannah Kelley of Hampton, Jennifer LaRose of Chatsworth, Channing Longo of Stockbridge and Emily Jessica Smith of Haralson County. The exhibit represents a wide range of conceptual interests and processes. Despite current trends towards documentary imagery in the fine art realm, these artists have addressed a variety of personal and societal topics through techniques ranging from relatively unaltered, through-camera imagery to highly manipulated photomontage and process oriented works. For more information about the exhibition or the photography program at UWG, contact Perry Kirk at 770-639-0494 or pkirk@westga.edu. The MOCA-GA is located at 75 Bennett Street Atlanta, GA 30309.
