UWG Students’ Photography on Exhibit in Atlanta
The University of West Georgia and the Department of Art are pleased to announce the opening of a senior photography exhibition that will run through April 24 in the Tula Art Center at The Museum of Contemporary Art of Georgia.
A closing reception will celebrate the exhibit on Friday April 23, from 7 to 10 p.m. Each artist will give a brief presentation about his or her work. The reception and exhibit are free and the community is invited to attend.
The eight photography majors participating in the exhibition are Paul Calhoun of Bremen; William Hogan of Franklin; Jay Holbrook of Carrollton, Claire Hyde of Suwanee, Hannah Kelley of Hampton, Jennifer LaRose of Chatsworth, Channing Longo of Stockbridge and Emily Jessica Smith of Haralson County.
The exhibit represents a wide range of conceptual interests and processes. Despite current trends towards documentary imagery in the fine art realm, these artists have addressed a variety of personal and societal topics through techniques ranging from relatively unaltered, through-camera imagery to highly manipulated photomontage and process oriented works.
