I Am West GeorgiaName: Mike Ginther What I really do: Maintain athletic fields for varsity sports, intramural sports and P. E. classes. Years at UWG: 3+. Before UWG, I: Was Expeditor at Printed Fabrics for 5 years, then at Oak Mountain Golf for nine years. I came to UWG because: It was close to home, I enjoy the work, and the benefits from the state. One thing I would change about UWG: More bike friendly areas. I was born in: Marietta, Ohio. Family members are: Wife Debora, sons Andrew (wife, Tabitha) and Ben, and daughter Theresa. People describe me as: Easy going and detail oriented. Most colleagues don't know that: If I told that then everyone would know. Favorite things to do: Anything to do with athletics. Favorite quote: It ain't nothing 'til we call it! Proudest accomplishment so far: Raising three great kids to adults. Pet peeve: People taking recreation activities way too seriously. Best advice ever received: Marry for love and work for enjoyment. Best advice for new faculty and staff: Make sure you enjoy your work; your life will go much smoother. What I most want to contribute to students: A safe and attractive place to play and learn. The book everyone should read: Watership Down. The movie everyone should watch: Gone with the Wind. The person dead or alive I'd most like to meet: Roberto Clemente. The place I'd love to travel to: Germany. Although you didn¹t ask, I'd like to tell you anyway: I still think about my college days. I hope students try to make this part of their lives as positive and memorable as possible.
