UWG raises money for MDA.

Prof. Kevin Hibbard, chairman of the Department of Music, raised the
most money, $1,355, for the local MDA "lockup" fundraiser in Carrollton. The money helps local families.

The University of West Georgia raised some $3,500 for local Muscular Dystrophy Association efforts recently.

The annual “lockup” event saw University Police Chief Thomas Mackel riding the back of a police cruiser.

“You don’t realize how little room there is back there,” Mackel said. MORE
