Extreme Guitar Duo
Come see Keith Knight & Don Alder on Tuesday, November 13 from 7:30 - 8:00 p.m. at the Townsend Center.
Extreme Guitar Duo is a collaboration of two world-class guitarists & composers, Keith Knight and Don Alder. Their show is an adrenaline rush that leaves no fret untouched-- from Appalachian, Delta blues and ragtime to gypsy, bluegrass and calypso.
Hailing from Vancouver, Alder's unique style of playing incorporates fingerpicking with simultaneous percussion on the soundboard. A master of both the acoustic and harp guitar, Don has won several international guitar competitions as well as U.K. Guitar Idol and Canada's Got Talent.
A Native American now residing in Portland, Knight breathes new life into traditional genres. His high-energy finger picking and sophisticated melodic compositions bridge the gap of music listeners. A reviewer with The Mountainer in Waynesville, NC declared Keith "the illegitimate son of Bill Monroe and Eddie Van Halen."
Enjoy the Choral/Orchestral Concert on Saturday, November 17 from 8:15 - 10:15 p.m. at the Townsend Center.
