UWG Students Dominate AJC Peachtree Road Race T-shirt Design Contest
Four of the five finalists in the 2013 AJC Peachtree Road Race T-shirt Design Contest are from the University of West Georgia. The public is asked to vote for their favorite design at www.ajc.com/peachtree starting today, March 15, and ending at 11:59 p.m. on April 30, 2013. Each person can vote once per day until April 30. The winner will be announced when the first runner crosses the finish line and receives their official t-shirt on July 4, 2013. MORE

UWG Announces New Business Certificate Program
The University of West Georgia Richards College of Business Economics Department introduced a new certificate program at the Inaugural SAS Day on March 12. Students in this program learn how to utilize data analysis tools and systems from the SAS Institute. MORE

UWG Alumni Establish Legacy Scholarship
The Alumni Legacy Scholarship Fund, a $25,000 endowment to support scholarships for students of University of West Georgia alumni, was established by the UWG Alumni Association Board of Directors with a lead gift by Rob Dial, President of the UWG Alumni Association, and his wife, Emily Dial, an alumna of UWG. UWG Geosciences Professor Receives National Grant
Dr. Bradley Deline, an Assistant Professor of Geosciences at the University of West Georgia, was recently granted a $25,000 Research Opportunity Award from the National Science Foundation to participate in the Assembling the Echinoderm Tree of Life Project. MORE
