Congrats to Dr. Michelle Frazier Trotman Scott, Associate Professor of Special Education in the Department of Clinical and Professional Studies, who has been elected Secretary for the Division for Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Exceptional Learners (DDEL), a special interest group of the Council for Exceptional Children (CEC), the largest international professional organization dedicated to improving educational outcomes for individuals with exceptionalities, including students with disabilities and those identified as gifted.

Cassie Hester was recently a juror of the 2013 SEGD (Society for Environmental Graphic Design) Global Design Awards. The Department of Art assistant professor served on a jury with colleagues from MIT and institutions such as the American Museum of Natural History. Read more ...

Congratulations Dr. Julie Whisenhunt, Assistant Professor of Counselor Education and College Student Affairs in the Department of Clinical and Professional Studies. She has been selected as a member of the Editorial Board for the /Journal of Counselor Leadership and Advocacy/ for a two year term beginning this year.

Dr. Elaine Roberts, Associate Professor of Language and Literacy in the Department of Clinical and Professional Studies, has published a new book with Deborah Coffey: Keys to Literacy Instruction in the Net Generation: Grades 4-12. Dubuque, IA: Kendall Hunt.

Congrats to Dr. Lewis Bozard, Assistant Professor of Counselor Education and College Student Affairs in the Department of Clinical and Professional Studies, for his recent publication: Counseling on the run: Considerations for implementation of exercise as an intervention in counseling, Georgia Journal of Professional Counseling.

Dr. Becky Stanard, Professor of Counselor Education and College Student Affairs in the Department of Clinical and Professional Studies and Associate Dean of Professional Programs in the College of Education, was recently published in the International Registry of Counsellor Education Programs: CACREP's Contribution to the Development of Counseling as a Global Profession, Journal
of Counseling & Development.

Kudos to Dr. Susan Boes, Professor of Counselor Education and College Student Affairs in the Department of Clinical and Professional Studies, for her recent publication with a former student A. Onabule: International Students Likelihood to Seek Counseling While Studying Abroad, Journal of International Students.

Dr. Kim Griffith, Assistant Professor of Special Education, and Dr. Ravic Ringlaben, Associate Professor of Special Education, both in the Department of Clinical and Professional Studies, will present at the University System of Georgia Conference: Best Practices for Promoting Engaged Student Learning to be held in Athens, Georgia next month: Re-creating and growing a successful online educational specialist program for special educators. Poster presentation accepted for presentation at the 2013 University System of Georgia Conference: Best Practices for Promoting Engaged Student Learning, Athens, Georgia.
