I Am West GeorgiaBlake Adams
My job title: Interim Director of User Services. What I really do: Technology strategery. Birthplace: Carrollton, Georgia. Family: Wife – Bonnie Adams (Lecturer, Dept of English) and 2 dogs (Boomer and Max). People describe me as: Friendly, easy going. My favorite things to do: Cooking, entertaining friends. My proudest accomplishment: My family. My passion: Life! My pet peeve: Blame storming. Before UWG, I: Was technical support at a local bank. I joined UWG because: I loved the school community as a student and jumped at the opportunity to become part of it again as a member of the staff. I stay because: I still feel like I can make a positive impact on the direction of the university. One thing I would change about UWG: I’d put our campus on the gulf coast! The best advice I ever received: “Anything you want to do is only a dream until you write it down, then it becomes a goal.” The best advice I’d give to new faculty and staff: Take lots of showers, that’s where I come up with most of my best ideas. When I was a child, I wanted to be: Space Cowboy. Most people don't know that: Their network password and their e-mail password are completely unrelated to one another. My favorite quotation: “Do, or do not. There is no try.” The book I think everyone should read: “How to be a Super Hero: Save the Universe in 30 days or Your Money Back Guaranteed.” The movie I think everyone should watch: “Monty Python and the Holy Grail.” My favorite memory: Meeting my wife. The person (alive or dead) I’d most like to meet: Christopher Walken. What I would most like to have if castaway on an island: A way off. What I would do if I won the lottery: Space Cowboy. What I most want to contribute to students: I want to make technology easier to use for everyone on campus. Although you didn’t ask, I’d like to tell you anyway: There’s a lot of interesting people on this campus, take the time to get to know some of them.
