My advice for a student thinking about study
abroad in Italy would be this: by all means, go
see all of the typical sights (which are wildly
famous for a reason, after all), but never stop
there. Meet the locals, go to the restaurants and
attractions Rick Steves could never tell you
about, take full advantage of any language lessons
available, and try to get outside of your own
head, your own culture. Try to experience, rather
than just see, Italy. Become Italian, as much as
possible, if only for a little while.
