Student Feedback

". . . . His class was very organized and structured. He guided us in our learning by having us participate in literature circles. Dr. Baylen challenged all of us during this course. It was my favorite course in the College of Education. His enthusiasm for teaching and working with us made our class a great learning experience . . . .

. . . . His extensive knowledge of how to teach literature in an elementary school setting provided us with valuable tools to take to our future classrooms. He explained the objectives to the class and gave us all the information we needed to succeed in his course. He also made himself available to us before and after class to discuss and questions we had about the course. Dr. Baylen responded quickly to our emails and was always there to help us out. I found him to be an open person who was always willing to listen to our point of view."

"I am very thankful for this class for the knowledge and skills I have gained. I am excited that I can use the computer to create, store, and design, many things that can be used not only for my children, or myself, but also for my classroom. I was very scared the first weeks of this class. I knew that I would not be able to keep up with the rest of the class with the abilities that I possessed . . . .

. . . . I am very thankful that I have been allowed to create my projects at my own levels of experience. The computer has become a tool that I utilize to complete my assigned projects, now. Previously and before this class, I would only utilize the computer rarely. I am thankful for this class and the instructor for all the growth I have been able to achieve, so far. I have acquired a great start and good foundation from which I can build upon as my learning increases.

Mirinda Turner, Class 2006

Student Feedback

The first course I took at FCGU in pursuit of my masters’ degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a major concentration in educational technology was in the fall of 2003 when I took Introduction to Educational Technology with Dr. Baylen. I feel very blessed to have had the opportunity to have taken this as my first course in the program. After the first few assignments, however . . . .
