To add a BACKGROUND to your page

    Click on the "FORMAT" menu at the top of page

    Then click on "Background"

       To add a Plain Color background - Click on the background color you want -

       To add Other backgrounds - Check “Fill Effects” – Then Click on “Texture”,

             “Pattern” or “Picture” – Click on “Gradient” to get variations of the same color

 

To add LINKS to your page

Insert a hyperlink that goes to another document, file, or Web page

You can create a hyperlink that goes to an existing file or to a new file. After you've specified a name for the new file, you can choose to open the file for editing immediately or come back to it later. Either way, the file is created for you.

     Select the text or drawing object you want to display as the hyperlink, and then click Insert Hyperlink  [or Left Click mouse – Then Right Click “Hyperlink”]  

Do one of the following:

  1.  To link to an existing file or Web page, click Existing File or Web Page under Link to.

  2.  To link to a file that you haven't created yet, click Create New Document under Link to.

Then Do one of the following:

  a.   If you clicked Existing File or Web Page in step 1, then locate and select the file you want to link to.

If you clicked Create New Document in step 2, type a name for the new file. You can also specify

     the path to the new file and choose whether you want to open the new file for editing now or later.

 

Click OK twice.

Notes

You can quickly create a hyperlink to a Web page without knowing the address. Click Web page to switch to your Web browser, open the World Wide Web page you want, and then switch back to Word.

If you know the address to an existing Web page, you can type it directly into the document. For example, type www.microsoft.com, and Word creates the hyperlink for you.

 

 

To add IMAGES (photo's-annimations-dividers-other clip art) to your page

      Insert a picture from another file

Click where you want to insert the picture

On the Insert menu, point to Picture, and then click From File

Locate the picture you want to insert

Double-click the picture you want to insert

 

To Add a List (Numbered or Bulleted)

Select the items you want to add bullets or numbering to.

On the Formatting toolbar, do one of the following:

 

To add bullets, click Bullets.           To add numbering, click Numbering  

 

Note   To create a bulleted or numbered list automatically as you type, type 1. or * (asterisk), press SPACEBAR or TAB, and then type any text you want. When you press ENTER to add the next list item, Word automatically inserts the next number or bullet. To finish the list, press ENTER twice. You can also finish the list by pressing BACKSPACE to delete the last bullet or number in the list.

 

To Add a ‘Bookmark’ also called ‘Target’ – ie. linking from a text or graphic to a Specific Location  [another text or graphic or the top or bottom or a specific place] on Another or the Same Page.

 

First - go to the webpage (current or new) you wish to link to

Then – on that page go to the Location (text, graphic, top of page, bottom of page, etc.)

           where you want to place the Bookmark (Target).

Click  Insert” top right  - Then Click “Bookmark

Under Bookmark name type or select a name for your bookmark

Then Click “Add” – this sets the bookmark (target) you will link to.

 

Now – Open the file (webpage) you want to link from

Select the text or graphic on which you want to make a hyperlink

Click ‘Insert  Then ‘Hyperlink 

Under  ‘Link to’ Click ‘Existing File or Web Page’

Locate and select the document that you want to link to.

Click ‘Bookmark’  Then select the bookmark you want
