Question 25: What suggestions would you make for future on-line courses?
· Coordination with bookstore and Busur office in regards to requesting books.
· Nothing
· none
· Instructors need to utilize more of the components in CourseDen.
· Do everything Dr ******, put videos up and make everything easy to follow, shes the best!
· Course Den going down on Fridays... need to change to Sat/Sun
· NA
· Have some meetings and study session before each test.
· timing on assignments need to be more flexible because most people who are taking online courses are normally taking them only because they have a busy schedule. And I had a lot of conflicts with the time dead lines!!
· Not Sure
· Course Den needs to work!
· Provide a syllabus. Make certain the materials you are using are available for purchase. Discuss how the subjective material will be graded in advance. Make the quizzes longer. Five questions means one missed question is a very low B.
· I honestly do not want to go into what this professor and his 'class' needs to work on. Horrible.
· Make sure the instructors are patient and quick to help students
· Nothing.
· Communicate and inform the entire class as much as possible for the best clearification.
· maybe have two trails for quizzes
· N/A
· try to condense the work a little better.
· For this course, which was very writing intensive, the next summer offering of it should be a 6 week class rather than a 3 week class.
· get alerts on your phone when stuff is due.
· n/a
· This teacher be more clear
· It's fine.
· None.
· To have a live chat with the professor available at certain times or a twenty-four hour live chat between students for quick questions or concerns.
· None
· better replies
· Make your class a learning environment not one to marvel at how difficult it is to pass your class. I have passed class online before and have learned so much from those classes. This class, I could not wait to be over. Like I said I love art but I believe her intensions with the class is not education but to prove art class is just as important as other classes, which it is but not at the expense of students GPA and education. stop trying so hard; art class should be fun! exciting! and a good learning experience!
· Take a different class!!!!!
· I would like to be able to see my grades without having to scroll down to find them.
· Try to be more Mac compatible. Technicians need to realize that Apple is a growing source for computers with students, especially art students, and it is inconvenient when I have to find loop holes and alternate ways of completing assignments because I have a different operating system.
· Have them also available in the classroom if they are requirements to graduate with their degree also if they are WAC(writing across the curriculum) courses so that all students feel comfortable and less intimidated by this already intimidating class.
· nothing.
· More general comments on our work from the instructor, to encourage more participation and discussion.
· easier not navigate sight.
· N/A
· n/a
· Everything already appears to be easy to use, understand, and access. Overall, it doesn't necessarily need much improvement at all. If there were to be improvements though, I would suggest trying to fix the issue of getting kicked out after a certain amount of idle time and the log in engine's password slot. The issue with the password slot is that it will freeze and not let me enter anything unless I click outside of the box and then re-click the inside of it again and begin typing.
· Power-points, notes, SOMETHING from the teacher. Not just read the book and take the test.
· I think the tutorials were well-prepared but that they should be of higher quality (i.e. larger on the computer screen so that I can better see what the professor is demonstrating).
· N/A
· Perhaps adding a system of reminders/alerts for when assignments and discussions are due? I believe there is already something similar to that on CourseDen but most of the time it doesn't show any posts or reminders.
· More on-line biology classes. Pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
· Online text books to accompany them.
· Completely online
· MEET ONCE A WEEK FOR A Q/A SESSION OVER THE MATERIAL BEFORE THE TEST
· Nothing.
· Post final grade within a month of class completion.
· None
· none
· Respond to students questions about final grades and exam grades at the end of the course.
· Perfect as is!
· nothing
· NA
· n/a
· NA
· My suggestion is to keep them going. I like that my classes are online because I have a 2 hour commute both ways and the online aspect of the courses has kept me in the program.
· I have no suggestions for future on-line courses.
· None
· no suggestions
· Nothing
· Nothing
· No suggestions, it was great.
· Do not require students to be online at a certain time. Instead, allow them to view and listen to recorded powerpoints on their own time
· Have an optional meeting at least one other time.
· Make the powerpoints modules so that we can go over them whenever is convenient instead of having it mandatory attend class at a certain time.
· None
· Have syllabuses up to compare with other courses before hand to know what you are getting into.
· I would suggest only having one assignment due each week.
· None
· I do not feel the ethics case study was necessary, I think that can be replaced with something that is more hands on and tied to our practicum experience.
· This was a summer class so it was nearly three times shorter than a regular semester. Therefore I think a little consideration in terms of time expected to be spent on-line would be helpful. The assignments were themselves time-consuming and it just felt very stressful.
· Maybe it would help to have more asynchronous face to face live time to bring more meaning to what we are learning.
· n/a
· Do away with some of the redundant, or unneeded menu items, and reorganize with intuition in mind. Make options, like publicizing the roster, obvious, or do away with them all together... why would I construct a roster profile and not make it public?
· That assistance is made readily available.
· I would suggest that this entire class be taught online. Except for our final projects, we could have done everything online.
· None
· none
· Make assignment due dates consistent. For example; Readings throughout the week with a corresponding assignment due each Sunday by 12 midnight. This makes it easier to get in a routine and ensure that all due dates are met.
· Continue to add more online courses.
· none
· With so many students--split the class so that there won't be an overwhelming number of students posts to read and reflect upon.
· I would like for CourseDen to revamp the graphic user interface...it is quite cumbersome and you have to hunt to find the content that is relevant to the course...the interface should be more transparent....
· None
· None
· Meet at least a couple of times in person
· N/A
· N/A
· It would be awesome to have a small photo appear when discussion questions are posted. I found myself toggling to the roster to put a face with a name. Also, offering but not requiring skype sessions would be a way to increase connection.
· n/a
· Get rid of the additional charge. As students were are accumulating enough debt with the expenses associated with the units and student fees for amenities(that most of us grad students do not use).
· N/A: I truely enjoyed taking this course.
· Having sporadic video comments about various topics would be helpful.
· Thorough directions for all assignments since you can't raise your hand and get an immediate response. Posts of model assignments would also be helpful.
· None, it was great
· none
· not sure, this was my first time
· Eliminate the amount of on-line discussions.
· None
· None.
· Teachers should always encourage their students to come to class sessions.

· don't take classes that 20 days long
· one less exam to take
· n/a
· open everything at one time
· video tutorials about PROJECTS.
· None
· N/A
· n/a
· NA
· Try and expose more students to it as early as possible. It may be our future.
· NA
· To be all as flexible in terms of time as this on-line course was. To contain all required information and plenty of references relative to the subject as this course did.
· It truly takes time and dedication to pursue and online course. Discipline is a key component to an online class.
· That a face to face session be held at least once at the beginning of a term so you can put faces with names during online discussions, etc.
· For them to grade things a lot quicker and to understand that you can not say that someone's opinion is incorrect.
· none
· Maybe have a calendar reminder of assignments.
· I thought everything was perfect
· n/a
· Make more online non ecore classes
· Less expensive books
· Given second chance when someone miss exams or failed.
· it is great now. i like it
· require one in class meeting so the professor can meet students and explain course in person then everything online
· I have had many online classes and never had any issues with them.
· I believe this course is fine just as it is.
· Very good course. i got the same amount of knowledge I would get in a classroom without any wasted time because I worked at my own pace.
· Keep it how it is.
· better communication between students and instructors.
· N/A
· To be very detailed in the instructions like how this course was.
· Meet with the professor during some sort of office hours.
· Double checking the quizzes for spelling and make sure they are keyed correctly.
· Make a discussion board available so that you can put forth questions to be answered by faculty
· If you're going to teach a class, teach the class. Don't have your helpers do it for you.
· nothing
· Nothing
· none.
· The availability of cheaper books required for on-line courses.
· maybe add 10 more minutes to complete the quizzes
· Decrease the amount of work for students have to do in one weeks time.
· I would suggest that the quizes are prepared better next time, and to have more interesting assignments.
· Teachers need to show that they care about the student's performance in their online classes.
· Nothing
· I think the system is good. Information to help oneself is there and if one need more help with understanding the information there are TAs
· I have no suggestions.
· To be as detailed as this class.
· Need more than 10 minutes to take assessments. The clock freaks me out and if I would had at least 15 minutes that would made me more relaxed about taking the assessment.
· more time for quizzes/ tests
· make the system for UWG go down during the weekend not weekday
· Nothing. I enjoyed the course. I like classes that tell you how exactly to succeed, and if you follow directions then you will not have any problems. This was an interesting course and I will recommend it to other students.
· N/A
· Larger variety of courses offered.
· None! Just keep doing what you're doing!
· None
· Everything due at the end of the semester.
· I don't have any suggestions.
· be specific about what you want, the student can ask questions but just by being online in general the class is a little harder than a face to face class, alot of online classes would be easier if the teacher would just make it clear what is expected of the student.
· Make deadline times known more than through WebCT but also through email reminders.
· not sure
· That every student be treated as an individual and not as a 'course number'. I was unable to even get to the class curriculum until the class had been in session almost a week (technical problems w/the University getting me connected), and the instructor allowed absolutely NO chance of making up my missed assignments.
· N/A
· Make more of them
· None
· dont make it a requiremnt to have the up to date software
· None
· not sure
· N/A
· longer time to take the quizzes
· great now... :)
· None, Great class!
· None
· Don't know
· None
· More Web based chat sessions. Perhaps with the teacher coming on-line for a live teaching session. So often web based classes are a place to 'reflect' on a journal article. Would like to see more active engagement.
· More chat?!?
· I enjoy the chat room sessions and the feedback from peers on papers.
· I like the course on-line and inclass combo.
· Open the CLab during Maymester.
· n/a
· n/a
· I really liked the set up of this class. The professor was very helpful throughout the entire semester.
· na
· nothing
· Lose all the extra 'on campus' fees since distance learners don't use them
· Face-to-face and online combo.
· Nothing
· You need to be focused from the begining to the end
· More in-depth discussions.
· The professor was easy to reach and she explained the assignments where they were easy to understand. The instructions were clear. She spaced the assignments far enough apart so that student could reach the deadline.
· N/A
· No suggestions
· I would have loved an information page given for first time onliners when I signed up that explained all the features of an online course and its resources. Everyone was helpful but sometimes digging for the help information was very time consuming.
· First time on-line students need a page of information that explains resourse and their use.
· Classroom norms should be established from the beginning to make sure that everyone is on the same page.
· All professors use different platforms and different modes of communication. Very confusing.
· Use the video component--it makes the learning much more personal.
· none
· Not to spend as much time teaching the navigating techniques of the on-line courseDen components etc. Most of the basics were reviewed at orientation. I wold like the materials posted ahead of time. Dates attached to the modules would be helpful.
· I had trouble submitting assignments. CourseDen is used differently by each instructor.
· Maybe not have as many discussions.
· Overall I had a good experience.
· None
· ???
· N/A
· continue as is, there isn't much better out there
· none
· I suggest that on-line courses have the first meeting as optional, not required. This course had an optional first meeting so those who need the extra guidance can receive it, but I had no issues doing everything online.
· none
· None
· n/a
· None
· I'm very happy with the online courses I've taken
· none
· There absolutely must be at least one initial meeting. I am very concerned/distress over MEDT 6401 as being all online with no help available!
· None
· None
· N/A
· None.
· More examples posted
· Nothing
· More contact with professor.
· An orientation session to WebCT/CourseDen, using the library online, etc. would be very helpful before the start of classes.
· I liked all parts of this on-line course.
· Just go back through and make sure everything works.
· none
· none.
· Provide them in 6 to 7 week increments
· Use of the library was essential. However, the process is cumbersome for distance students. I am also very disappointed that I am being charged for overdue books when I was not shipped labels to return books until far into the semester and I mailed them way in advance of the due date but book rate is obviously quite slow.
· More tech training.
· Just keep doing what you are doing.
· More time to 'chat' in wimba rooms for discussion requirements...not all written responses.
· More scheduled live chat sessions about course topics.
· Post all modules at the beginning of the course. Have instructors respond to students efficiently. Have all parts of CourseDen math. (i.e. sometimes instructors names did not match or modules and assignments were shown differently.)
· Webct/COurseDen is a pain. It is convoluted and hard to navigate. Upgrade to the new blackboard that has more customizable tabs for professors and easier to navigate.
· I would like to see all the modules posted at the beginning of the course, rather week by week.
· Only allow caring instructors to teach online.
· Have this course developed ahead of time instead of building it while you are teaching it. UWG has known for years this course was going to be taught. There is no excuse for not having it prepared ahead of time.
· none
· Implement timely feedback on assignments. Understand the students and what they are seeking to learn with feedback.
· Post all modules and assignments in the beginning.
· Entire course available from day one with flexibility for all students. Prompt grading required for all instructors.
· Modules need to be posted as the beginning of each semester so that students are able to progress at their own speed.
· Spend more time in orientation on the online component.
· Put all the modules up at the beginning of the semester and follow the syllabus. Sometimes we'd have a module up on Monday... next week, maybe Thursday.
· Using the wimba classroom for some of our discussions.
· I would prefer to have all of the modules posted at one time.
· Post modules ahead of time so that I can plan my time accordingly.
· Fewer discussion posts of the cheerleading variety.
· more support with navigating course den prior to beginning classes.
· Post each new module Sunday night or early Monday morning, so students may use their time efficiently.
· Response to discussions
· Instructors need to utilize technology as part of the class before requiring the students to do so. The systems need to be running efficiently so access is available when needed. Also, it was extremely frustrating to have so many different places of access; I was often unsure if I was on the correct site to find the needed content for the course. I am still unsure about accessing information through the online library and would like more information and instruction in this area.
· Webct is a pain. Upgrade to the new blackboard.
· Provide access to all assignments, so that students can work ahead if they have an upcoming vacation or obligation.
· None. Great class!
· Be more organized.
· All teachers need to show that they care about the student's performance.
· Be compatable with internet explorer. It is most commonly used.
· NONE
· Every online course needs a podcast video of the professor introducing each section and detailing each assignment. She also added voiceovers to the PowerPoints, which I thought was awesome.
· nothing
· none
· Complete work on time
· Continue to be accesible and to make sure,
· Be very specific and orgnized.
· The workload needs to be cut down a lot. It is really hard to learn four chapters in a week when in a face to face class it is broken down in a simpler way.
· n/a I thought it was a great class
· Teachers need to show that they care about the student's performance.
· That there be a little helpful tab that tells how to access the material a little better.
· N/A
· N/A
· none
· N/A
· Make sure the teacher is fully prepared to be accessible.
· Stricter deadlines for online work.
· I would suggest making a tutorial on how to use WEBCT
· Have atleast two times the class meet in class, for those who actually need it.
· I would have liked to have seen an estimated time for completion on each module quiz or project so you know if you have enough time to actually complete it on certain times there are a time contraint.
· none
· I don't know
· N/A everything was great
· none
· Have weekly assignments due on Sundays, this gives people whom work full-time enough time to catch up on the weekends.
· nothing
· perfect class
· none
· Be clear and concise, make sure there are no misunderstandings in what is expected of the students, and be available still for student questions.
· Keep Ron Best.
· None.
· I don't have any problems with the on-line courses.
· Have more online content, as Dr. **** did with whiteboard explanations.
· N/A
· take up to two classes on-line saves you a lot of time
· I do not have any suggestions for future this on-line courses.
· NA
· Improve the online chat option. It can be confusing to use at times when multiple students are online.
· N/A
· more class interaction
· Not such hard projects for such a short semester.
· Great course, some professors should learn from dr. **** on how to teach an online class. Best teacher online period.
· Make a little cheaper
· GPA requirements? I am a hard-working student. So, I know I'll keep up with all the stuff I have to do. However, I know that less deligent students often let thier online classes slide and wait to do everything until the very last minute. SO, freedom is a great thing, but very dangerous in the wrong hands.
· I think that this class was integral for my understanding of the subject. I would have all of the articles/materials available to the students from the beginning.
· None.
· n/a
· the professor should speak at least understandable English, many of my peers dropped the class because they could not understand his lectures. and also the correct information has to be given for log in etc, i was given the wrong information to several days. so did not complete all of my mapping.
· all assignments should be due on Sundays, giving amble time for full-time employees to catch on on weekly work during the weekend
· better access to lectures. I wish the slide show had been separate from the actual lecture.
· It is helpful to have all assignments posted at the beginning of the course so students can work ahead if their schedule allows.
· Upgrade Courseline's submission and email.
· Fix the problem before registration period.
· Cut out the irrelevant busy work.
· #NAME?
· Everythings were great.
· nothing the projects and exams and extra credit you cant go wrong
· To follow Mr. Khodkar's example. All information and material needed for class to be available a month before class starts. All assignments or homework to be posted the first day of class. A student is expected to be prepared for class, I expect nothing less from the teacher.
· So far I have no suggestions to any future online courses because my experience so far has been incredible.
· I suggest that the teachers post helpful sites on the internet.
· Just maybe being available online or setting up something like wimba to periodically answer questions students may have.
· More online communication
· Allow students to email each other for assistance. Have the professor provide webcasts or video of some of the material.
· I have no idea.
· The penalties for not properly participating in an on-line courses should be very severe.
· More structure
· Have a few more face to face meetings as part of the course.
· none
· Just to make sure that all assignments are listed under the assignments tab. I felt like maybe a couple of the assignments that were embedded in the course content modules could be also listed under 'assignments'. Even though I was constantly checking to make sure I did not forget or overlook something, I was still uneasy when they were not listed under 'assignments'.
· An initial face-to-face meeting and a middle face-to-face meeting with the class and professors.
· none
· IT need to have more patience with students that are having difficulties.
· NA
· more time
· None
· na
· none
· To condense instructions to one set and always have them located in the same area.
· None
· Have the teacher be more respectful in her emails.
· There should be a face to face meeting in the first part of the semester, the middle of the semester, and one optional one at the end to help those like me who need in person contact.
· Have at least one face to face meeting with the entire class so everyone understands assignments and what is expected of them.
· None!
· Not having face to face meetings online.
· No group projects
· None
· We need to have face to face meeting at the beginning that allows the students to go over the syllabus and receive instructions for items we do not understand.
· I will never take one again.
· Maybe for the students taking the summer version of this class the instructor could have a class meeting day when everyone meets (face-to-face) one or two times during the semester so that the students can ask the instructor important questions.
· MAKE THEM AVAILABLE AS A TRADITIONAL CLASS OPTION FOR THE STUDENTS WHO DO NOT LIKE ONLINE COURSES1
· this was a really good one. I can't think of anything she could have done better.
· I would have love to have had at least one face to face.
· None. I am pleased with the course I just finished.
· none
· Mandatory class meetings, at least 3
· No suggestions. I liked everything about the course.
· No group projects
· NA
· Less group work because not being able to meet classmates gives you less opportunity decide how to form the groups.
· Make sure that the professor is as knowledgable as Dr. *****. It was great knowing that my questions would be addressed correctly
· N/A
· Be sure assignments are posted asap to allow for timely completion.
· Give information to online students on how to access information through UWG library by giving them access information and making it easier to find and sign up for MAT program classes.
· Nothing
· It might be nice to have an orientation session for completely online programs. I think it would help to have a mandatory session, even if it is online, that would take us through and show us how to interact with Course Den, different webpages, and especially the library and its resources. I think this would help students feel more confident going into their online classes.
· n/a
· competent instructors
· Adobe connect meeting must be limited to 9 participants max and that includes the teacher. It impossible to have an online meeting with more than 9 people.
· The only suggestion I would give is that sometimes the assignments in the syllabus was not consistent with the assignments in course den. I felt that sometimes I had to search all documents to make sure I was completing all requirements of the assignment.
· nothing
· Keep making them available.
· Again, make sure all assignments are easy to access and in one place. If they are on the syllabus, put them on the calendar. If you are not going to utilize the calendar all the time don't use it at all.
· N/A
· None- absolutely wonderful class!
· I learned a lot. I would like to meet face to face at least once a month. Not as many assignment and allow for more collaboration amongst peers.
· None
· The P&P could have had an example that was available to view. The assignment was very hard to get started on. It would be good to go over the handbook and what it should look like at the one face to face meeting.
· I have no suggestions for future classes. I thought this class was well planned and organized. I'm glad I had an opportunity to take it in the summer when I wasn't working full time because it gave me an opportunity to realize how UWG/CourseDen worked.
· Exemplars would be a nice addition to the course. we are doing work in the blind and when finished don't know what the ideal should be (handbook). Lots of work .....It would have helped me to have more structure to this. Talk me through the sections and say what should be in the policy and what should be in the procedures. An exemplar after we did ours to compare would make me feel better about the project.
· none
· Maybe have two face to face meetings and make the last one a debate...or drop the debate part altogether.
· Maybe a training for Wimba
· This is my first sememster. I don't really have anything to compare it to. On-line coursework is a different animal altogether. You have to be organized, motivated, diligent and communicative in a different way. It was challenging at first but rewarding.
· None
· The entry page of CourseDen needs a month at a glance option to accompany the week and day options.
· I enjoyed all parts of the course
· Good the way it is.
· none
· N/A
· nothing
· None.
· I like this class just the way it is.
· Offer (optional) face-to-face.
· none
· N/A
· None.
· Give us ONE (1) login. People my age have trouble remembering our age, let alone three logins.
· None. Maybe more utilization of the chat function, but that may be difficult for students to collaborate.
· None. The course met my expectations admirably.
· As I said, this is my first semester so I don't really have anything to compare it to. It might be helpful to make the whole online registration process a little clearer ...maybe a step-by-step procedure tutorial that people can access. That part was a little harrowing at first.
· Worked good for me!
· none
· I have no suggestions.
· The discussion and thought provokers are just busy work. I didn't learn much from them.
· n/a
· No suggestions. It's an overall good experience... It's just the nature of it that I both like and dislike.
· I wish I would have had more than 6 weeks to work on my course portfolio...
· None.
· This was a great course!
· Every course should require a course homepage that links to all assignments in that class and has a quick reflection for each. This was an excellent resources that I will use now that I am finished with this program.
· n/a
· Using course den instead of moodle.
· Have Camtasia Studio videos to show students how to build their electronic portfolios as they go along from class #1. Make it part of the class so we don't get caught the last semester struggling to pull it all together. Also, we need step by step directions on how to export our grades/posts from within CourseDen and Moodle.
· A couple more synchronous sessions would be good.
· n/a
· Allot enough space on the student's web server to upload the files needed to complete assignments (not thought CourseDen, the students webpages).
· A method for addressing concerns and questions where the class meets online at least three times during the course of the semester.
· Try to create more real world application of the information learned in class.
· N/A
· None
· Although I have learned a lot in this course, I would not recommend it to be a choice during the summer. The content is so extensive that it was hard to complete in the allotted time frame.
· N/A
· Make sure everyone has access to the systems that we have paid to use.
· none
· This was my first semester with a online course. I found out a lot on my own but better communication concerning how to register, getting free software, what to do if a class is closed etc. would make the student signed up for the first time feel better at ease.
· Allot enough space on the student's web server to upload the files needed to complete assignments (not through CourseDen, the students webpages).
· Have an online equivalent for every course at UWG.
· none
· n/a
· I would like the courseDen graphic user interface to be updated and more transparent for the student. It is clunky and inefficient which makes the learning experience cumbersome.
· I like having one or two face to face meetings per semester.
· 10 references for summer would be sufficient. I understood the point of finding good sources but 15 was too much for summer. Also the essay question on the final exam was very unexpected. A heads up would be beneficial in the future.
· Use discussion posts
· None.
· continue to put everything out there in the beginning so that we are better able to pace ourselves.
· Nothing. Everything was well organized.
· Have an example/explanation for all reference sources for the reference log. I did not understand exactly what I was looking for when it came to some of the reference sources. One that stumped me was the literature sources, but after beginning working on it, Dr. ****** added a video explanation that was very helpful.
· The online courses work well for the most part. It may be helpful if some consideration was given to courses like this and the support students may need from a face to face standpoint to support their success on the assignments that may require students to work with other people who may not live close to them. Coming to campus is a neutral location for completing group assignments.
· I feel that we could have still understood the different types of reference sources if we could have reviewed less but in depth. For example, maybe three 350+ words of each type of source.
· We should be able to retrieve assignments prior to due dates and resubmit.
· In one of my previous classes, the professor was not using their own syllabus. This was obvious because the professor did not understand the requirements of the assignment. I would make sure there was a requirement that the professor must return email within a certain time frame. I have had emails go unanswered. I would make sure that adjuncts understand the course they are teaching.
· There needs to be a tutorial.
· None
· n/a
· I would have liked more than 6 weeks to complete my electronic presentation.
· NA
· Encourage all professors to utilize the discussion aspect of the course. I find that I learn a great deal when I have the opportunity to discuss topics and ideas with others.
· I do not have any suggestions.
· nothing
· none
· none
· Make sure the professor is comfortable utilizing CourseDen
· I do not have any suggestions for this online course.
· To not have a course within another course, if possible.
· Careful consideration of balance of the assignments in determining face to face sessions is needed. Some courses require group projects. I think in cases where that is required, face-to-face sessions be considered for classmates to meet up and discuss division of the workload. Meeting on campus provides a neutral meeting place for everyone and makes it easier for everyone to me at a location that is fair and centralized.
· keep making them available
· I appreciate the instructor having print selection materials avaialble for us at the face-to-face meeting. Everything else was avaialble online or at public libraries even in the summer.
· I have had such great experiences with the online classes at UWG that I can't think of any. :-)
· No suggestions.
· Well, it is just too bad that Dr. ***** and Dr. ****** cannot teach every class you have.... :-) I have no further suggestions, however.
· Make sure work is valuable, not done 3 times in the same class. Respond to a question, respond again to the same question. Write a review of everything you have already said twice. Crazy. Fill out a form Fill out another form that asks for identical information as previous form. Over and over again. This is not why I took the class. Why do students ask constant questions and clarifications? Because the directions are impossible to understand!

· My suggestion would be to keep it going. I think that there are a lot of students like myself that have 2 hour commutes each way and online courses have kept me in this program.

· If all courses have instructors like Dr. *******and Dr. ****** who communicate effectively, clearly, and in a timely manner, online courses would be much easier. These two instructors did a great job.

· With big classes--cut down the number of students that each student has to read. With so many students there is not enough time to truly read every post and to discuss effectively.

· It would be great if a small photo could be posted along with a discussion posting to put a face with a name.
· Please make sure the modules are up-to-date. That would help for easier access of some podcast materials.
· Make sure everything is modified in all areas to reflect any changes.
· A video from him about some important concept of the course would be helpful in feeling a more personal connection with the professor.
· The entry page of CourseDen needs a month at a glance option to accompany the week and day options.

· Don't establish rules about the online discussions unless it's clear the class members aren't participating enough. Allow people to prove that their professional enough to take it seriously first, before creating rules that might end up being unnecessary.
· Program eval is probably too much for a 6 week summer course.
· Create a course home page as the first assignment and have students link all work on that page. They can add images or screenshots of each and include a reflection. All courses should have this. It would be a valuable tool to revisit after graduating and seeking tools to implement into the classroom.
· Examples of assignments.
· No suggestions
· Give students advanced notice regarding the research proposal assignment.
· Post modules farther ahead of time.
· None.
· Create more real world application of the knowledge learned in class.
· Open all modules.
· I would like for CourseDen to revamp the graphic user interface...it is quite cumbersome and you have to hunt to find the content that is relevant to the course...the interface should be more transparent....
· Nothing really, maybe utilize the chat feature more often, though that would be difficult to collaborate with all the students.
· Some assignment instructions need further clarification.
· Having all assingment and directions in one place on the site.
· Maybe have the material available for purchase (at $0.05 a page) a package of the materials so that one does not have to log on every time a student needs to read something. Sometimes, a student only needs to take a quick look, yet it takes several minutes and a computer to access it. That way, only for assignments or discussions would a student need that access to a computer.
· There should always be at least 1 on campus meeting with the instructor and other class members. It's good to have a face with a name, and also good to clearly understand the course assignments & requirements.
· more group assignments so classmates can share teaching strategies in the classroom
· Set up assignments in advnace, send out announcments when new dpcuments are posted online.

· More interaction would be helpful. Exercises, discussions, other assignments. Anything would help.
· The on-line courses should be evaluated by someone that is an expert in creating online courses. This would prevent professors that lack online course creation training from uploading a few links to WebCT to sell as an online course.
· Offe other techers
· Rarely do I ever give negative feedback for a course. I am a firm believer in that the grade one receives is a reflection of the work/effort put forth from that student. Im a senior at UWG and have a gpa of 3.12 with a 4.0 this previous, 15hour, fall semester. I say this in hopes of establishing some sort of credibility when I tell you that THIS WAS THE WORST CLASS I'VE EVER TAKEN AT UWG, and for many reasons: no teaching, no lectures, no quizzes to help prepare for exams or offset their wieghted avgerage, no solutions to practice problems. On the first day of class, I drove out to UWG because there was a required meething. The prof. didnt show up. Instead he had sent an email the previous night saying that he would not be available. I say these things not to be bitterr; I am just being honest. There needs to be some form of accountability for professors. Every class Ive taken online has had some form of instruction/teaching. I feel robbed that I paid so much and got nothing in return

· Dr******* knows what she's doing. No suggestion.
· This instructor needs to revamp this class for a summer term. It's online, yet you have a group project, and it's not clear what she wants. Then she has NO office hours.
· no group projects
· More assignments.
· No multiple-choice tests! They do not properly measure the value of what students actually learn!

· Make certain that all courses have an available roster to show which students are in the class.

· The online portion of the class wasn't bad, but as stated before, there seemed to be more emphasis on the online learning, and less on the in class learning. The in class learning and theory could be expanded drastically with little else changed.
· Be more clear with expectations.

· I enjoyed this course it was very organized.
· Organization and clarification on assignments.
· Less posting responses. It was a waste of time to debate with our classmates over topics we are uninterested in.
· Consolidate location of information.
· Nothing.
· I like having different resources for finding information, like videos.
· More online classes should be partial distance so the student can have face-time with the teacher as well as personal-time time with oneself.
· Make absolute certain all material covered in tests and quizzes is plainly presented and stated in materials. Also, it can't hurt to accompany each reading with a powerpoint explaination and summary of main points.
· Somewhat shorter on-line lectures or the lectures broken down into more parts.
· I would suggest that the teachers who are teaching the classes actually want to teach the class. Just becuase the class is not face-to-face does not mean that the teacher is relieved of the responsibility of actually teaching the class. On-line learning is not equivalent to teach yourself. If that was the case then my tuition should not go to pay her salary but to pay myself.
· The main suggestion I always have for on-line courses is more teacher involvement. Just because a class in on-line does not mean students do not want input from their teachers.
· put everything up early so students can finish it early if they chose to.
· N/a
· offer on-line classes
· More time allotted for test taking.
· I was kicked out several times while trying to take a test. There was a storm going on at the time, so I thought that might be the problem. I went next door to my brother's house where he was not having internet problems and I still was kicked out a couple of more times. I was finally able to complete my test, but it was a timed test and I ran out of time due to being kicked out several times. I don't know how to correct this problem, but this was the only problem I had with the course being online.
· More classes option.
· Some professors need more organization (Not ******) specifically in the art department.
· It's good the way it is.
· Keep offering them!
· Some chat along with postings would help with more interaction among students. More feedback from the professor would help guide our learning and make sure we were on track for the learning outcomes of the course. I feel some of the professor's knowledge being shared would also give a different view than the text and students'.
· try to have at least one class as skype or on-line instant messaging, or a chat room
· Decreasing the amount of live chats, or eliminating them altogether. I prefer to have time to read my classmates' work and respond thoughtfully. Typing in real time limits the input that can be provided by all involved.
· Make sure that all questions are answered asap.
· None
· Follow in the footsteps of Dr. ********. She was prompt with posting assignments, showed she was human and allowed a little flexibility, and posted grades in a timely manner. Feedback is the most important component in an on-line course and she provided that.
· Keep offering them!

· Have teachers that want to teach the course and that will be available when needing further instruction.
· Find a better teacher, with better instructions on assignments and actually focuses on topic of the course.
· Different instructor with different instructions
· Meet in person at least once face-to-face.
· I suggest that the teacher make herself available to others. I think she shoul explain her grades better. Content folder needs to be better organized. Teacher should not get offended when ask quetions. All students in the class is an adult, and should be treated with respect. Teacher is very insensitive.

· Still trying to figure out how an online course and its fees still work out to be about the same as an on campus course and fees. Almost $1000 per class (tuition and fees combined) is a little much. Etuition rate plus GR Tuition seems to me I getting charged tuition TWICE.
· make sure assignment instruction and requirements are clear
· I think that this course is great for teachers already in the field working. I think this should stay a part of the school curriculum.
· assignment due on Sundays, giving full-time employees time to catch up on the weekends.
· just for this class, because it was a maymester class, maybe not so much reading or so many papers. All that work took up our entire day for the most part. chapters were like 40 pages a day, everyday!
· WebCT is fine and easy to use. The problem is that every online course I've taken has been formatted different by the professor, so regardless of the fact that they are using the same software, there is little continuity from class to class. I believe that professors should be encouraged to format classes along a series of guidelines provided by UWG, to allow students greater ease in navigating the system and allow for better understanding of the class materials because they do not have to waste time navigating the vehicle of instruction.

· Present all rubrics in the syllabus.
· Provide online book purchases for all classes. Had to drive to Carrollton to purchase textbooks for online/mostly online courses.
· I would be cautious as to having a fully online course during the graduate school. These courses would be better to have maybe 50/50.
· More face to face meetings for this particular class.
· This main component of this course was the clinical practicum; therefore, the content was learned mostly onsite.
· Make the class out of more than 100 points and the teachers need to be understanding of student issues and computer issues. If distance learning can vouch that the student had legitimate issues uploading an assignment and they are working on the issue then that should not be held against the student.

· Group work for an online course is the most ridiculous idea I have ever heard of! Group work is hard enough when you meet in class and see the people, but group work for an online class! Seriously!!!!! My one big complaint is that this class is not for students who are not teachers or becoming teachers. Dr. ***** had absolutely no idea how to make this class beneficial for all students in the class. I must say I am extremely disappointed in this online class. It was a waste of time and hard earned money and not applicable to me as a counseling student.

· Easier access to the library; too much passwords required for logging-on.

· Quicker response for grading
· This class either needs to be removed or have another professor assigned, so that students can have a clearer understanding of expectations/guidelines.
· Since it is online, the professors should be required to answer any and all emails pertaining to classes they are teaching each and every day.
· Professors should have online office hours, professors should set certain times for Wimba classes, and professors should prove eximplars when giving assignments online so students have clear understanding of assignments.
· None
· Absolutely, there should always be at least one in person class meeting at the start. I also think the design of the online features need to be kept simple and reduce the number of 'enhancements' and changes. Don't fix what's not broken.
