Question 16: What suggestions would
you make for future online courses?
-
be online as an instructor at a set time for
questions
-
Nothing
-
It would have helped a bunch if we could have
seen what a chat session with our group members should be like.
-
keep them very organized with directions
for assignments EXTREMELY clear. It is very easy for a class to get
very confused very quickly
-
I like using the bulletin board as the main
site for classwork. Web chat is effective but time consuming as people
tend to type alot of nonsense.
-
N/A
-
well i wish there were more online courses
that i could take.
-
Make sure all links are working properly.
Also the book for this course was really expensive. $60 for a paperback
workbook is a little much.
-
nothing
-
none
-
In the future I think that WebCT needs to
be equipped to handle large classes such as the course I was enrolled in
(65 students). This way the chance of errors or problems will be
reduced.
-
Create more of them!
-
None.
-
Students should not have to pay the on campus
fees. I did not like having to pay for parking health fees
etc. I thought it was totally unfair.
-
Offer all graduate classes online
-
none
-
Need more of them!
-
THE SCHOOL SHOULD HAVE MORE OF THESE COURSES
TO OFFER STUDENTS. I ESPECIALLY LIKED HAVING IT DURING THE MAYMESTER
SESSION. AS AN EDUCATOR THIS ALLOWS ME MORE TIME TO ENJOY MY
SUMMER.
-
I find no fault in this course.
-
More options available by Webct.
-
offer more.
-
None. WebCT is easy to use.
-
Don't have any at this point.
-
n/a
-
None
-
None
-
Have half of the classes face to face.
-
None.
-
More organization....
-
Be available for more courses.
-
Have a set time for questions and answers.
It could be the "morning of" or "between the hours of" so that someone
does not have to be tied to the computer.
-
Tell students how to use WebCt during the
first class meeting.
-
i dont think any changes should be made except
get more classes linked up
-
Professor more involved.
-
I was glad to have this course offered online.
It seemed a logical course to offered this way because it's needed by so
many students. Offer the other general education psych and
foundations courses that we all need.
-
fewer students per section.
-
Have more classes available!
-
Have more of them.
-
Having the answers posted after the assignments
and tests have been graded so that we could see our mistakes and ask questions.
-
There should be more feedback given to students
on assignments.
-
Make more master's level classes on line
-
Stagger the days
-
To have more on-line courses. I took
two on-line courses from UWG and I learned more in those two classes than
most of my other classes combined.
-
Maybe some classes on campus and some online.
-
No suggestions ...
-
more classes
-
none....
-
none
-
I have no suggestions at this time.
-
These courses only work if the instructor
is willing to be VERY accessible--I know from experience.
-
None.
-
no comments
-
I think the course was done very well.
WebCT was very easy to use. As far as my dislikes it can't
be helped. Taking online courses is a trade-off.
-
none
-
It was a good course
-
They need to offer more classes.
-
none
-
None everything was excellent.
-
None.
-
Because of the MLA citation involved in this
course I don't think it lends itself well to WebCT.Another online
supplemented course I've taken didn't give me the same problems. My suggestion
would be to make webct capable of doing more if it is to be used in this
course.
-
Make sure that there are thorough instructions.
Make sure the reading assignments and the worksheets relate to each other.
-
none
-
If passwords are needed and must be accessed
first from the library a warning would be nice.
-
it is great as it is
-
One suggestion I would make is for the proffesors
to contine and allow themselves to be available for any questions their
students might have what is expected of them. This is very good for both
the student and the proffesor.
-
none
-
none
-
Find a way to have a spell check ablitiy
-
I just don't like the classes so I do
not want to make any suggestions.
-
none
-
use powerpoints and have a book
-
I think that an optional meeting once or twice
during the semester would be nice. I realize that some people cannot
come to campus very often but I think that for people who were interested
an occasional meeting to discuss problems questions concerns
etc. would be nice. With this course the professor
was always in the library or available by telephone.
-
No suggestions at this time.
-
On online course should be used to supplement
the insturctor/course.
-
More interactions use the chat room
speedier response to questions. Require students to purchase MLA
handbook.
-
In this paticular course some of the questions
were confusing. We for instance were asked to staple our papers to sumit
them. We were also asked to do certain things that did not coincide with
the online course.
-
Specifically for this class (LIBR 1101) -
make the MLA Handbook a REQUIRED textbook. Had it been listed as
the required textbook in the syllabus the grades of the first worksheet
would have been higher.
-
Offer more courses on-line
-
Make sure links work and that the assignments
are available when promised.
-
Use labs that work
-
Some flexibility must be allowed due to unforseen
problems with online access.
-
none--I love them!!
-
I would make a "guide" for how to use WEBCT
for the first timers who are always confused!
-
have the professor to clearly distinguish
different sections on the bulletin board
-
I would like to see more on-line courses.
-
No suggestions.
-
not have to go to the Carrollton campus for
the first class
-
Any general foundations courses offered online
would be helpful.
-
Some students were not knowledgeable nor did
they learn to use the WebCT correctly. Doing a tutorial first should
be required becuase those who use it incorrectly waste other students'
time.
-
Understanding instructors understanding
that we are not all as computer literate as they are.
-
Not have to go to the Carrollton campus for
the first class meeting.
-
Offer more of them! I would have to drive
2 hours plus in each direction for a class. This program has been a blessing.
PLEASE offer more on line.
-
I would make a "guide" for 1st time WebCT'ers
who are totally lost!
-
Have at least 60% of the course face-to-face
and GSAMs.
-
I would like to see more courses being offered
on-line.
-
Test all students level of computer level
usage BEFORE the course
-
Help the professors become more comfortable
with them.
-
Use the chat room section and make the class
completely on-line.
-
can't think of anythign
-
none
-
Make webct compatable with AOL and any other
internet service provider that it posses a problem with. Or you could give
us a list of service providers that webct does not conflict with. Set up
a deal (for the student who use their home computer) to receive some type
of discount with those service providers. For once in our college career
give us a break!
-
Have them with more structure without forcing
you to a set time. ex. teacher updates web ct every day before noon and
you have all day to check and do work.
-
I like it as it is.
-
none
-
make it not a group project
-
Check the group web pages a little more often
this way you can see what is going on in the group.
-
Have at least 2 sessions where the students
meet face to face.
-
make group about 2 people not 4 or 5
-
Maybe have a a questionare for each person
in the class so you can match students with similar schedules etc.
-
make more on-line courses
-
offer more online courses!
-
For complete online courses please make individuals
accountable for their own actions.
-
not to have group work... just stick with
the student being able to complete the course on an individual basis
not so much group work
-
Nothing
-
None it was good
-
More interactive
-
Clear expectations are very necessary in the
professor's syllabus. There also has to be time built into the schedule
for the online sharing which consummes a great deal of time.
-
send emails periodically about important information
notices
-
None
-
I cannot think of any at present.
-
none
-
Improve the bulletin board to center around
topics more.
-
When courses are posted as being live in class
classes: stick to it.
-
This type of class in my opinion should not
be online. Too deep to not be an open discussion class.
-
more discussion
