  • Allow the students to study on their own.
  • Continue to offer them.
  • I would like to see less student chit-chat during the chat sessions b/c side conversations make the lecture hard to follow.
  • For the professor to be more involved.  To literally make it the same experience as if the professor was teaching in a classroom.  Also adding a "virtual learning" piece where the professor is lecturing/teaching and all students can actually see him and submit questions and comments.
  • None at the moment
  • None, really
  • Consider making a couple of the online chats shorter, maybe just 30 minutes, and primarily use to answer class questions.

  • none
  • More opportunities to display independent thought (i.e. papers and other assignments)
  • Have some quizzes to prepare you more for the tests.
  • For people who like the online set-up, this course was a good one. Maybe a few quizzes or more worksheets could be more helpful.
  • The HTML editor used to post assignments to the bulletin board needs to include the ability to double space assignments.
  • N/A
  • have more of them
  • no suggestions at this time
  • More of them
  • Be able to write a formal paper and submit it like it is written.
  • I loved not having to chat once a week.  That is a waste of time!
  • If teachers are going to require everything in APA style and they really encourage you not to send papers as attachments then WebCT has got to find a way (besides HTML editor because it doesn't work) to meet that requirement.
  • completely on line
  • Training for at least half an hour of the first class coordinated with the professor of what his expectations were.
  • none
  • The professors need to be very clear about what they want turned in and when.

  • N/A
  • I am not sure that I would. This on line class served its purpose and Abbott did a great job with it.
  • none
  • I feel that most of the education courses should be offered online. Many teachers have avoided your school because so many on-line universities exist. While a total on-line program may not be desirable, the fact that so few of your courses are on-line-- drive them to the other universities. As gas prices increase, this will be a bigger problem for the university
  • Offer more courses

  • Only do these courses if you are disciplined and computer savvy.
  • Post all work in the beginning so students can finish as quickly as they like.

  • More WebCT classes available, because of conflicts with other ed. classes. I don't feel safe being on campus after 6 so I don't want to take evening classes, but you  have to if you are an ed major and can only take classes 2 days of week because you commute.
  • The College should provide a discounted version of a webpage maker that could be used for this course.

  • Continue to offer at least 2-3 face to face class meetings.

  • I think they way things are now with 3 F2F meetings is a good balance. Some classes could probably meet once at the beginning and then submit all work online with possible an optional F2F for students who need extra help or want that additional contact.
  • None of these ridiculous surveys.
  • Keep up the good work!
  • Half and Half would be nice. I feel like I read the book and teach myself the course.

  • None
  • keep up the good job
  • none
  • more on-line courses

  • I would suggest they re-do the policies for students taking on-line classes as far as parking is concerned.  When you only go to campus 3 times a semester and then it is mostly in the evening they should not be giving us tickets for parking.

  • I was charged fees for services such as transportation and health that I never used.  I don't think those fees should be applied to those taking classes online.

  • Dr. Putney utilizes WebCT most effectively. I typically not like online courses but her instructions are so thorough and she is responds quickly and with valuable insight. A lack of feedback is one of the reasons why I dislike online courses, but I feel I get adequate feedback from Dr. Putney. I feel comfortable contacting her directly, which I greatly appreciate.

  •
  • I have no suggestions
  • To have the courses completely on-line or only have the student come one time to campus. The drive is difficult.
  • nothing
  • Have total on line courses
  • More spread out deadlines.  Having to go on-line every few days is time consuming.

  • have somewhere we could post questions etc. to our professor on the bulletin board
  • Please make more of them available. I would love to see you put a PhD that was at least primarily online. Those of us who live in the northwest corner of the state have no where that we may go to further our educations.
  • Nothing.
  • none

  • N/A
  • While chatting/discussion is important to any class, with distance education, it is much better to have assignments which are individually completed.  Students choose distance education so that they can fit it into an already busy schedule and because it is already difficult for them to find time to meet in a class or group.
  • No suggestions
  • to have teachers and students use WEBCT daily to receive information
  • Have instructors assign common on-line chat times for real-time discussion among class. Just a few during the course duration would be nice.
  • The professors need to be proficient at using WebCT, utilizing all components available.  No part of WebCT should be deleted or blocked and grades should be posted on a weekly basis, as well as weekly contact with the students via email/bulletin board.
  • Syllabus should be posted weeks before the beginning of class. Thus, students have time to buy the books.
  • Increase the amount of type for chat boxes; more examples on-line and web-sites

  • Catch up to the 21rst century
  • I'm not sure.
  • Maybe meet once every two weeks for some face to face interaction and allow the teacher to actually teach!
  • Course work can be broken down into weekly assignments online.  See MEDT 6401 on WebCT
  • Maybe meet more than once, like to review for tests
  • letting students know ahead of time if travel to campus is involved, I thought this class would be all online
  • Offer some CEPD classes online!
  • Is there a way to provide examples/samples of assignments required for respective courses?  You see this ONLY when attending classes on campus.  ALSO, can you increase what you can say/respond to in the chat box?
  • We need more. As a working adult, it is more convenient for me to complete a graduate degree.  I like the staff at UWG and feel they were very helpful in the summer.
  • More of them!
  • It might be helpful if in addition to office hours, the instructor had a time that they would be available to chat online if student's had questions.

  • Get rid of yellow pop-up bar!!
  • none
  • Always post all grades.  It makes it easier to keep up with for the students.

  • Dr. X used an excellent format. I think if the standard college course format (assigned readings, midterm, final) were used for WebCT courses, I feel many students (including myself) would not have the self-discipline to keep up. For students to be successful in online courses, I feel that instructors should give short, relevant assignments spaced over the term to keep students on track and ensure they are really synthesizing the material.
  • Less assignments
