Each Spring the DDEC recognizes UWG faculty who have excelled in distance teaching and mentoring of fellow online faculty. The awardees are recognized at the annual Apollo Awards Luncheon and presented with the coveted Apollo trophy. Following are the criteria:

1. Must teach at least 2 distance (more than 50%) courses at UWG during Summer, Fall, or Spring of the current or past academc year. At least one must be designated as a Five-Star Course .
2. Must assist in delivering at least one face-to-face training session related to distance teaching sometime between July 1 and April 1 of the given year. This may include workshops offered by the DDEC or other related campus workshops. Providing a 7-Minute Sizzle Talk at an Apollo Luncheon also meets this criteria.
