Downloading and Installing Audacity

The install files for Audacity can be found online at: http://audacity.sourceforge.net/download/beta_windows

To download the program:

  1. Look under "Recommended Download" and Click "Audacity 1.3.4 installer" or just click here to download. You should see one of the following dialog boxes (or something similar) depending on which browser you are using:

  2. Depending on whether you are using Firefox or Internet Explorer, click "Save File" or "Save," respectively. You may have to specify a download loaction
  3. Once the file has downloaded, run the setup by double clicking on it. The default file name is: audacity-win-unicode-1.3.4.exe
  4. Follow the on screen prompts which will guide you through the install process
