Firewall

To disable, or change the settings on the Firewall (these steps will vary with different firewall software).

To allow access through the Firewall:

1. Click on the Start button in the lower left hand corner of your screen.
2. Click on Control Panel.
3. Click on Security Center.
4. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on Windows Firewall.
5. In the next screen, click on the Exceptions tab.
6. Click on the Port button.
7. Under Name, type in CourseDen.
8. Under Port Number, type 8000.
9. Click Ok.
10. Make sure CourseDen is checked.
11. Click Ok again.

To turn the Firewall off:

1. Click on the Start button in the lower left hand corner of your screen.
2. Click on Control Panel.
3. Click on Security Center.
4. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on Windows Firewall.
5. Click the Off button.
6. Click Ok.

Configuring your Firewall to work with the Real Media Player

To configure Microsofts Service Pack 2 Firewall:
(All other Firewalls click here.)

1. Click on the Start button in the lower left hand side of your computer.
2. Find your Control Panel and click on it.
3. In the control panel find the "Security Center" icon.
   
4. In the Security Center, scroll down until you see the Windows Firewall link at the bottom of the page and click on it.
5. Click on the Exceptions tab at the top of the window that opened.
6. Click on Add Program.
   
7. From the list that comes up, find the Real Media icon and click on it.
8. Click Ok and Ok again.
