Self-Teaching Options (text only, text w/pictures, view it and do it )
Self Teaching options are tutorials, presentations and handouts created so you may learn on your own and at your own pace.
One-on-One Assistance in the DDEC Lab
One-on-one assistance in the DDEC Lab is available on the topic of your choice. Please let us know what time you are coming & what type of assistance is needed, so that we will have proper resources on hand. Bring any necessary files formatted for a PC. Contact distance@westga.edu to make your appointment.
Dr. D House Calls
The DDEC offers house calls to faculty who need assistance with distance learning.
DE Staff and student assistants are available by appointments and visits are
limited to 30-minutes. Support will be provided with WebCT course tools, demos
of technologies and software (such as HorizonWimba, Impatica, etc), basic course
evaluation, and improvement. Faculty who need immediate assistance should still
contact the distance learning helpline.
Apollo Program {Apollo Cafe'}
This program gets its name from Apollo, the mythological god who was strongest when at a distance. The goal of the Apollo Program is to facilitate a community of learners faculty who will work together to help their peers through both informal and formal means - to achieve educational excellence in distance education at UWG.
The program strives to achieve this in two ways: Monthly informal discussions with fun, free food and prizes in the Apollo Cafe a fancy name for Z-6. See the list of workshops for upcoming dates, times, and details.

Centralized Calendar {all training on campus - click here}
This is a centralized calendar on which any UWG staff or faculty can share faculty training or professional development opportunities. ITS, the Learning Resource Center, Distance & Distributed Ed Center, and the instructional technology support units within each of the three colleges, all collaborate to offer this resource. Student Orientations
Student orientations are WebCT overviews/training sessions for classes on campus. Orientations are given by staff and student assistants. Email distance@westga.edu with your specific request.
Just in Time Training by Phone
JIT training is available via the phone for faculty that may have problems with WebCT course tools, technologies and software (such as HorizonWimba, Impatica, etc), basic course evaluation, and improvements. DE Helpline 678-839-6248
