The 2007 Economics Forecast Breakfast was held on Thursday, October 30, 2007
at 7:30 a.m. in the Campus Center Ball Room on the campus of the University of West Georgia.
The featured speakers were Dr. William "Joey" Smith and Dr. Rajeev Dhawan.
There were over 370 people in attendance this year.
Dr. Rajeev Dhawan is the director of the GSU Robinson College of Business Economic Forecasting Center. One of the country’s leading economists, Dr. Dhawan develops forecasts for the U.S., the Southeast region, and the Atlanta Metro area. He is a regular contributor to the Blue Chip Economic Indicators, USA Today Forecasters Survey, Reuters, Bloomberg, and the Consensus Economics Forecast Panel in the UK. Dr. Dhawan’s expertise in forecasting has been recognized by such organizations as the Bank One Economic Outlook Center, Bloomberg News, and the Federal Reserve
Dr. William "Joey" Smith is an Assistant Professor of Economics at the University of West Georgia. Formerly, Dr. Smith was a research associate at the Fiscal Research Center at Georgia State University . He specialized in the study of growth patterns of the Atlanta Metropolitan Area and in the empirical analysis of state tax policies. Joey will provide an update on the outlook for the state and West Georia Economics. Joey is a graduate of Haralson County High School.
