If you've been out of school for more than 5 years and never attended college , you will not be required to take the SAT and some other requirements will be waived. However, you will have to take a placement exam and may be required to take Learning Support/ Remedial courses before being allowed to enroll in eCore or other college-credit courses.
As of June 2003: "A student with LS requirements who is enrolled in all required LS courses may now take an eCore course if the student has met the LS prerequisite(s) for the course. (For example, a student with an LS requirement only in math who is enrolled in LS math may take an eCore course in English.) The student must drop the eCore course(s) if dropping the required LS course(s)."
