Welcome to UWG's eCore Advisement Center

eCore are online core courses that are provided through a state-wide collaborative program. eCore courses are taught entirely online, except for the occasional proctored exam. Courses satisfy the basic core curriculum requirements at any University System of Georgia institution.

 

 
Summer 2008 and Fall 2008 eCore Registration

1) To register for an eCore course, you must first complete the eCore online orientation (includes short quiz). If you have previously completed an eCore class (with a C or better), then you are exempt from the orientation requirement.

2) Please click here to access the eCore orientation:

3) Your orientation/quiz results will be reviewed by an eCore advisor within 48 hours (usually less), and an email will be sent to your myUWG email address regarding your registration status. If you do not receive an email from an eCore Advisor, please contact Cheryl Coppolella at 678-839-5437.


Registration Dates for Summer 2008 are as follows:

* Currently Enrolled Students may register and/or adjust schedules between April 7 - 25 based on the registraton schedule below. See your advisor before your assigned date to register so your advisement hold can be removed:

  • Current Seniors - April 7
  • Current Juniors ss# ending in 00-49 – Apr 8
  • Current Juniors ss# ending in 50-99 – Apr 10
  • Current Sophomores ss# ending 00-32 – Apr 11
  • Current Sophomores ss# ending 33-66 – Apr 14
  • Current Sophomores ss# ending 67-99 – Apr 15
  • Current Freshmen ss# ending 00-32 – Apr 17
  • Current Freshmen ss# ending 33-66 – Apr 18
  • Current Freshmen ss# ending 67-99 – Apr 21
  • Open registration - Apr 22-25

*New Students: You may register for an eCore course only during April 22-25, 2008. If you also plan to take on-campus courses, you will register for these during orientation.

*Transfer Students: You may register for an eCore course only during April 22-25, 2008. If you also plan to take on-campus courses, you will register for these during orientation.

*Transient Students: April 25, 2008 or during the late registration, drop/add period (May 13 -15)

*Late Registration/Drop Add: May 13 - 15

Registration Dates for Fall 2008 are as follows:

*Currently enrolled/continuing students may register and/or adjust schedules between April 7 - 25 based on the registration schedule above (See Summer schedule) and also during Fall 2008 Open Registration, July 14 - 31. (Banweb goes down at 5 pm on July 31).

*New Student Registration: August 14, 2008 or after you attend an orientation session (sometime in July). You will receive information on the orientation program from the orientation office after your admission's file is complete. For more information about orientation, please click here. If you are taking only eCore classes for Fall Semester and can't attend an on-campus orientation, please contact an eCore Advisor by calling 678-839-6248.

*Transfer Student Registraton: August 14, 2008, or after you attend an orientation session (sometime in July). How to Register on Online:

For directions on how to register online, go to http://banweb.westga.edu/help/registerbanweb.htm

For directions on how to login to Banweb, in order to register, see: http://banweb.westga.edu/help/logintoban.htm

Before attempting to register, you would need to check the UWG Banweb Online Class Schedules to see if there are any seats available in eCore classes. Look for courses marked with a "G" in the section number, in order to figure out which courses are eCore ones. See the UWG Banweb Online Class Schedule here: https://grim.westga.edu/www/schedule.htm

Click on the "Undergraduate Subject Listing" category for the particular semester you are attending, then scroll down, look at the bottom right column until you see ECOR-eCore. Click on ECOR-eCore to see a listing of all eCore courses for the particular semester. Please note that there are only a certain number of seats allotted for eCore classes so it's entirely possible for your registration date to roll around and there not be any seats left. If this happens, you can try again during the late registration, drop/add period. Since eCore is a collaborative program, there are no cap overrides or wait listing for closed eCore classes.
