“I can give hope to people in my generation by sharing my story.”
Kristina Marie Carter, a wife, mother, and grandmother always wanted to be a nurse. It was not until her daughter was applying for college that she realized her dream could in fact come true. She discovered eCore classes and found out that financial aid was available to her. She could continue to work to support her family while taking classes toward a degree online.
Kristina’s managed to consistently take two eCore courses a semester while working fulltime (even overtime) and caring for her family during the past two years. For Kristina, the main draw to eCore classes was the “convenience of being able to do them whenever you can get to them.” Online courses are the only way her busy schedule would allow her to pursue a degree because with an online course “you don’t have to be somewhere at any given time.” It’s difficult to balance work and school, but “eCore classes have made it very easy to do.” And Kristina has certainly been able to balance her schedule and make time for her family, especially her beautiful granddaughter, Malaya.
Kristina will complete most of the core requirements for a Bachelor of Science in Nursing through eCore and plans to enter a nursing program in 2010.
