Welcome to UWG's eCore Advisement Center

eCore are online core courses that are provided through a state-wide collaborative program. eCore courses are taught entirely online, except for the occasional proctored exam. Courses satisfy the basic core curriculum requirements at any University System of Georgia institution.

 

 

eCore Success Stories

Kelly Booth

Kelly stated that she will take as many eCore classes as she can so that she may spend more time with her sons, though she acknowledged that when the time comes she will attend onsite classes. "I want a bachelor's degree in biology," she said, "which I know will take hard work and even take time away from my boys to get it done. But with the sacrifice will come a great career and the boys will see if mom can reach her dream, so can they." Read more...



Kristina Carter

Kristina Marie Carter, a wife, mother, and grandmother always wanted to be a nurse. It was not until her daughter was applying for college that she realized her dream could in fact come true. She discovered eCore classes and found out that financial aid was available to her. She could continue to work to support her family while taking classes toward a degree online. Read more...



Kim Holder

“eCore allowed me to return to school without having to wait until my children were both in school full-time which was my original plan," said Kim. "Because of eCore I will graduate in 2008 instead of enrolling in 2008! I saved countless dollars in babysitting and gas monies for the 1-1/2 hour daily commute to Carrollton from home. I was able to go to class in my pajamas after putting my kids to bed, and while sometimes it lasted until the wee hours of the morning, it's hard to beat that kind of convenience.” Read more...





Kaycee Velazquez

Kaycee Hudspeth Velazquez had dreamt for many years of obtaining her undergraduate degree and advancing to get a Master's in Library Science. “With three children and a part time job of my own it seemed like it would forever be only a dream," remarked Kaycee. Kaycee works at a public library as well as taking care of her two school aged children, which is a full time job in itself. "After discovering eCore, which saves me gas (or more importantly money) and time spent commuting to and from school, I felt a little hopeful for the first time in years that I might be able to embark on achieving my dream.” Read more...



Danielle Vincent

Danielle's mother has been a major driving force in Danielle's recovery, supporting her throughout the entire ordeal. Her mother had helped her to discover that online classes were a viable option in continuing her education, despite her disability. Danielle has already completed four online classes and is currently enrolled in two additional eCore classes. Danielle states that she will continue to take eCore courses and acclimate herself so that she may attend on-site classes at some point in the future. Thanks to eCore, Danielle is well on her way to obtaining her goal of becoming a counselor and has the ability to focus simultaneously on her physical recovery. Read more...
