Former Student Receives Award

Cathy James, a former English student, was recently awarded the Novello Literary Award for her book, Alligator Boy. The night of the presentation she met authors Lee Smith and Clyde Edgerton. James reveals, "Lee Smith gave me a compliment that made my year when she said, 'I've been hearing so many good things about your work.'" Her book will be published next fall.
