Call for Presentation Proposals

The overall goal of Learning Festival 2009 is to promote classroom teaching and to assist teachers in realizing their contribution to the quality of life in our schools and communities. Learning Festival 2009 aims to:

  • To celebrate and showcase excellence in teaching and learning
  • To recognize and reward excellent and professional teachers.
  • To model and demonstrate excellence in teaching and learning
  • To strengthen and deepen the content knowledge of teachers
  • To strengthen and deepen the pedagogical knowledge of teachers, including teaching special populations
  • To support teachers as they incorporate instructional technology into their teaching

Type of Sessions:

Concurrent Sessions: Each of these sessions may be a lecture, demonstration, workshop, or panel for 75 minutes. In these sessions, authors present for about 60 minutes, followed by audience discussion for 10-15 minutes. Audio-visual equipment, such as a screen or overhead projector, desktop computers with PowerPoint software, is provided.

The concurrent sessions are 10:30-11:45 am, 12:30 - 1:45 pm, AND 1:45-3:00 pm every day.

Proposal Deadlines:

  • Submissions are due by January 10, 2009
  • Notification of Acceptance – February 1, 2009
