Participants may register for one (1) PLU and will be required to attend June 3 and 4 9:00 am – 3:00 pm. You may choose the Concurrent session you wish to attend.

GRADUATE CREDIT
Participants registering for Graduate Credit must be accepted to the graduate School; get the permission of their advisor; and register for the strand/course they select. All participants registered for graduate credit must attend all sessions June 3-4, 2009. Check the syllabus for your strand/course for meeting details after LF09.
Fee:

  • Graduate credit (for Continuing students) - $ 432
  • Graduate credit (for Returning students) - $ 462

Students who are already accepted to a graduate degree program at the University of West Georgia must:

  1. Gain permission from your Academic Advisor and course instructor to take course(s) for graduate credit.
  2. Notify course instructor that you have obtained your academic advisor’s approval.
  3. Register for the desired section of PTED 7281 by going online at http://banweb.westga.edu/ (NOTE: All Learning Festival courses are listed as a section of PTED 7281. For example: PTED 7281-01, PTED 7281-02, etc).

If you already hold a master’s degree and are interested in pursuing an Ed.S degree or the EdD in School Improvement, you cannot be admitted in a non-degree (personal enrichment) status and these requirements do not apply to you. Students who were accepted to a graduate degree program at the University of West Georgia, but have not taken a course in at least 1 year must:

  1. Gain permission from your Academic Advisor to take course(s) for graduate credit.
  2. Contact the Graduate School Office at 678-839-6419 or gradsch@westga.edu to determine your application status. Please understand that you may be required to submit a new application and other supporting documents. However, you will not be required to pay another application fee.
  3. Once status is updated and you are cleared to register, notify course instructor that you have obtained your academic advisor’s approval.
  4. Register for the desired section of PTED 7281 by going online at http://banweb.westga.edu/ (NOTE: All Learning Festival courses are listed as a section of PTED 7281. For example: PTED 7281-01, PTED 7281-02, etc).

  1. Completed application for admission
  2. Pay non-refundable $30.00 application fee – New Graduate Students Only.
  3. Provide Graduate School with one official transcript from each college or university attended – We can accept unofficial copies of your transcripts until official copies can be submitted by your previous institution(s).
  4. Meet 2.7 cumulative GPA requirement
  5. Provide Graduate School with a copy of your highest Georgia teaching/educator certificate.
  6. Obtain a Satisfactory Certificate of Immunization* – New Graduate Students Only.
  7. Provide Graduate School with a copy of your 2008 – 2009 Teaching Contract (Out-of-State residents teaching in the state of Georgia only).
  8. If applicable, provide Graduate School with Academic Honor Form.
  9. Once accepted and you are cleared to register, gain permission from your academic advisor to take course for graduate credit.
  10. Notify course instructor that you have obtained your academic advisor’s approval.
  11. Register for the desired section of PTED 7281 by going online at http://banweb.westga.edu/ (NOTE: All Learning Festival courses are listed as a section of PTED 7281. For example: PTED 7281-01, PTED 7281-02, etc).

* These are minimal program requirements for receiving graduate course credit for PERSONAL ENRICHMENT. Should you decide to pursue a master’s degree at the University of West Georgia, you will be required to submit: a) three letters of recommendation; b) an official Graduate Record Examination (GRE) or Miller Analogies Test (MAT) score; c) immunization, and d) any additional information required by the Department of Curriculum & Instruction.
