Requirements to Receive Financial Aid
- You must be enrolled in or admitted to UWG and be a high school graduate, or have a GED.
- If you are an undergraduate enrolled in six or more hours, you may qualify for all Federal Aid programs. If you are enrolled less than full-time (12 or more hours), some aid programs will be reduced
- If you are a graduate student enrolled in at least 5 hours, you may qualify for all loan programs and federal work-study, if admitted as a regular graduate student. As a post-baccalaureate student accepted by the College of Education for certification, you must take at least 6 hours to qualify. If you are admitted as a provisional graduate student, you must be enrolled in 6 or more hours to be eligible. If you are admitted as post-baccalaureate (non-degree), and not seeking certification, you are not eligible for federal aid.
- You cannot receive federal or state aid if you are in default or owe a refund on any Title IV aid program from any source.
- You cannot receive financial aid for audit courses.
- You must meet the Satisfactory Academic Progress standards to be eligible for federal and state aid.
- You must be a U.S. citizen or U.S. National or an eligible non-citizen to receive financial aid; documentation of your status may be required.
