University of West Georgia

Study Abroad Program - Financial Aid

UWG participates in the Study Abroad Program. Please visit the website at http://www.westga.edu/%7Eibssp/ for information regarding the programs offered.

Students are required to complete the current year FAFSA to be considered for federal aid. Complete the FAFSA online at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov. If you already have the FAFSA on file for the current year, you do not need to complete it again.

If possible, the maximum amount of aid is offered for the academic year (fall and spring semesters) to provide students with the funds up front to assist with deposits or required payments. You may contact the Financial Aid office to determine if any additional funds are available to help cover your trip costs.

Summer financial aid is processed separately from the academic year. You may be eligible for aid for the Summer Study Abroad Program however these funds may not be available to you until after the beginning of the summer semester.

If you are currently receiving financial aid complete the request for summer aid by going to your BANWEB account:

Login into your BanWeb account:

  • Student Services and Financial Aid
  • Financial Aid
  • Summer Aid Review Request for 0708 (available around March 1st)

You will receive an email notification of your award at your UWG email address once your financial aid has been reviewed.

If you have questions please contact Financial Aid at 678-839-6421 or finaid@westga.edu fax: 678-839-6422.
