A
native of France, Pierrette M. Frickey
received an M.S. in psychology from Augusta College as well as an M.A.
in French and a Ph.D. in comparative literature from the University of
South Carolina. Her primary areas of research are twentieth-century French
literature and the literature of the Caribbean. In addition to editing
Critical
Perspectives on Jean Rhys and Women Writers of the Caribbean,
she has published essays on the Caribbean theater, on the French poet Aragon,
and on Jean Rhys. For the past years Dr. Frickey has directed the summer
study-abroad program in Tours, Paris, and Nice, France.
