![]() All First Year students must participate in a First-Year Program. You will choose your First-Year Program when you register for Orientation. You will receive information on this process from the Office of Admissions following your acceptance into UWG. During Orientation Registration you will make a first, second, and third choice of First-Year Programs. Your choices will be transmitted electronically to the program coordinator of your first-choice program. That coordinator will evaluate your record and either accept you or forward your form to your second-choice program, and so on. You will be informed of your First-Year Program when you arrive for Orientation and check in. Note that some First-Year Programs have special requirements, summarized below: FYRST requires that students complete a housing contract prior to registering for orientation. Students who do not have a completed housing contract will not be admitted into FYRST. Additionally, FYRST students will live in Strozier or Watson Hall. Honors College students must fill out a short information form, available from the Honors College, and must meet two of the following three academic requirements for admission to the Honors College:
Students in the HOPE Mentoring Program must be HOPE scholars Students in either the CSI:UWG, Space Science, or Pre-Health Learning Communities must have scored a Math SAT of 500 or higher and have a high school GPA of 3.0 or higher. Students in the African-American Male Initiative must have a minimum GPA of 2.5. |
