The GeorgiaView (GVC) Consortium is founded on the concept of free and public exchange among its members of data, information and knowledge concerning the Earth and its processes, as observed by Remote Sensing technologies. GVC will promote the growth of remote sensing applications with the goal of expanding and developing the existing applications of Remote Sensing data and technology in the academic, government and commercial sectors.

GVC is part of the AmericaViewSM Consortium (www.americaview.org), which is comprised of university-led, state-based consortia working together to build a nationwide network of state and local remote sensing users. AmericaViewSM is supported by the U.S. Geological Survey, and is working with the USGS and universities across the country to expand participation in the AV Program to all 50 states.
