Learning Festival 2008
The UWG Learning Festival 2008 will be held on the campus of the University of West Georgia June 2-6, 2008, to celebrate outstanding teaching in the West Georgia region and surrounding states. It is anticipated that 400-500 instructional leaders and educators will gather to share experiences and celebrate the art and science of teaching.
New College of Education Dean
Dr. Kim K. Metcalf, who began his career as a high school music teacher, has accepted the position of dean of the College of Education effective July 1, 2008. Metcalf has been employed at West Georgia as director of The Evaluation Center in the COE since July 2006 and will serve as dean of the college after Dean Kent Layton completes his service on June 30.
