Graduate Assistantships

Graduate assistantships, graduate research assistantships, teaching assistantships, and fellowships are available to full-time, degree-seeking students. Administered by the Graduate School, assistantships are primarily available in academic departments and administrative offices on campus. To obtain information about available positions, please contact your department and/or the Graduate School. You may download the Graduate Assistantship Application or pick one up in the Graduate School Office. The Graduate Assistantship Application should be submitted to the department offering the position in which you are applying if you know about an available position. If not, please submit your application to the Graduate School. Applicants applying for a Graduate Assistantship in the Richards College of Business must submit two Graduate Assistantship Applicant Evaluation forms to Dr. Hope Udombon, Administrative Director of Graduate Programs, at hudombon@westga.edu as well.

Teaching assistantships (application coming soon) require a separate application process. These financial awards may have an effect on your financial aid eligibility. The University System of Georgia requires all graduate students receiving a tuition reduction as part of their graduate assistantship award to have health insurance, which meets certain minimum requirements. To learn more about this requirement, go to http://www.westga.edu/~gradsch/forms/printable/SHIP.pdf.
