The Non-Thesis Track

Students pursuing the thesis track will choose a major field and two minor fields of study. They will write a research paper of about 20-25 pages involving original research. They will also take two written exams (the major field and one of the minor fields) and a comprehensive exam that will include an oral examination over material in a student's major and minor fields, as well as their research paper.
