Center for Public History
University of West Georgia

The Center for Public History's Regional Music Project has identified more than 150 groups and individual artists from in and around Carroll County whose traditional or tradition-based music has contributed to the vitality of West Georgia's musical folklife since the 1920s. The Directory of Regional Musicians encompasses present-day performers as well as names from the past. Musical styles documented include gospel, bluegrass, folk, country, sacred harp, big-band, and rock. The directory is continually being updated and we welcome information on artists not listed.
