The World War II Trunk

Created from donated funds, the World War II trunk contains objects, documents, maps, photographs, and audio-visual materials designed to teach students about the war in the European theatre, the Pacific theatre, and the home front. Here you can find ration stamps, videos, period magazines, uniforms and big band music--even a dummy M-1 clip.

  The Cold War Trunk

In the Spring of 2007, the Center for Public History received a Georgia Humanities Council grant to create a second traveling trunk. This trunk focuses on five major events from the Cold War era: the Berlin Airlift, the Korean War, the Cuban Missile Crisis, the Vietnam War, and the fall of the Soviet Union. With vintage artifacts, documents, photographs, and audio-visual materials, teachers can bring the Cold War era to life in their classrooms.

These trunks are produced in part by a grant from the Georgia Humanities council through the appropriation of the Georgia General Assembly. The Center for Public History is grateful for additional funding provided by the Kiwanis Club of Carrollton, the Carrollton Golden K Club, Carrollton AmVets, Dr. Mac Martin, the Carroll County Genealogical Society, the Bremen AmVets, and Mr. George Wheeless.
