Two performances of "Everybody's Tuned to the Radio: A Live Concert" were held on Friday, March 7th and Sunday, March 9th at the Carrollton Cultural Arts Center. Performers from the golden age of live radio in West Georgia included The Bluebonnet Boys, The Bluegrass Five, The Willing Workers, Alton Stitcher, Charles Cole and His Southern Kinfolks, and the Sewell Gospel Quartet. Historical recordings by these groups are featured on the CD "Everybody's Tuned to the Radio: Rural Music Traditions in West Georgia, 1947 - 1979" produced by former music curator Mick Buck as his graduate thesis project. |
