Does the Honors College offer courses during the summer?

No, we do not offer honors courses in the summer. However, you can convert courses to Honors credit during the summer.

We typically offer 30 courses each Fall and 30 each Spring. (Most of the offerings are CORE requirements.)

How do I convert a class to Honors credit?

This is a simple process that many Honors students use in order to complete the graduation requirements. You need to go to your professor for the class you wish to convert and discuss options with him/her. Typically professors require students to complete an extra assignment (research paper, class presentation, lab work, etc.) that the other students are not required to complete. There are 3 forms which need to be filled out and you must obtain the appropriate signatures (your professor, the dept. chair, and the Dean of the Honors College.) These forms MUST be turned into the Honors House by the midpoint of the semester (withdrawal deadline).

Please print and complete each of the following forms:
Honors Credit Approval Form
Departmental Honors Credit Form
Honors Contract Policies

How do I declare a major/minor?

Go to the department and speak with the secretary (each dept. has different procedures).

Can I take a test to skip one level of foreign language and go to the next level?

Yes you can. You need to see the Foreign Language Department.

Do I need to take a foreign language class?

This depends on your major. Most BA degrees require students to complete through 2002 of one language (French, German, or Spanish).
