Success Stories

The Honors College at the University of West Georgia has graduated many distinguished alumni. Among those who have furthered their education are these examples of hard-working, intelligent students.

Ajay Pillai

At the age of 17, the youngest graduate of any four-year school in the University System of Georgia. Never attended high school, but rather enrolled in the Advanced Academy of Georgia at the age of 13. Will attend the Medical College of Georgia in Fall 2008.






 


 



 



Kim Holder

A non-traditional student, who was a full-time wife and mother of two while also a full-time UWG Honors student, will attend Georgia State University to pursue a PhD in Economics. Received a student assistantship from GSU and was also named a Walter and Adelheid Hohenstein Fellow for the Southeastern Region by the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society.

 



 

 

 

 

 


Logan Leslie

One of only 48 students to be offered a Gates Cambridge Scholarship in 2007.  Also accepted to doctoral programs in Chemistry at Harvard, Yale, and Princeton, among others, but chose to attend Stanford University on full scholarship. Has received numerous other honors including being named a Goldwater Scholar and a member of the All-USA College Academic Team.

 

 

Reba Cox

Began her studies at West Georgia at the age of 16 as a student in the Advanced Academy of Georgia, and graduated in a little over 3 years. Now only 20 years old and working in New York City for NATIXIS, a corporate and investment bank, as an Account Executive.

 

 

 

 


Oluwadamilola Akigbogun


A native Nigerian, who arrived in the U.S. four years ago. Completed a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and will work as a RN in the Surgical Trauma Intensive Care Unit at the Medical Center of Central Georgia in Macon, GA.
