Undergraduate Research

As a new academic year begins, now is the time to begin working on new research projects. Many students have opportunities to work on research through courses and labs that they take. For students that may not have those opportunities inside the classroom, please contact the Honors College on ways to get started!

Upcoming Research Events:

This year’s state Honors conference was hosted by Clayton State University on February 25-26, 2011.  This is always a great conference for students who have never presented research before.  This year we had five West Georgia Honors students attend and present research in the areas of Biology, Chemistry, and English.

Department Opportunities

Various departments on campus participate in regional and national research conferences and encourage student participation as well. Also, there are many Summer REU programs available each summer, which are great opportunities to work with Faculty and students from other universities and these are obviously great resume builders!  See your department for more information.
